Does it Offend you, Yeah? - You have no Idea what You're Getting Yourself Into
Nine Inch Nails - The Slip
Rise Against - Appeal to Reason
Death Cab for Cutie - Narrow Stairs
Lupe Fiasco - The Cool (if it counts... llllateee 2007)

Haven't really heard much else from this year. I personally refuse to even download (much less buy) Kanye West's new album, heard some of the songs and thought they were horrible. That voice filter thing is incredibly annoying.

    Wow, where the hell are all the true hip-hop fans in this thread. By far THE best rap album of the year;

    http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s...ninthalbum.jpg

In a year of rapping about "Lollipop's" or singing to girls "Whatever You Like," Nas stood alone in keeping hip-hop lyrically true to its roots with intelligent and relevant themes.

I wasn't as impressed with the killers new album sadly, Ting Tings album was very good though. These are a lot of albums i've got in 2008, i'm fairly certain they came out this year, but some may be late 2007. Honestly as far as hip-hop and rap go, Lupe Fiasco and Atmospheres new cd's were absolutely superb. A bunch of albums have already been listed, these are some I havn't seen yet, but deserve to be mentioned.

    Digitalism - Idealism
    An horse - An Horse
Hoosiers - The Trick to Life
Gym Class Heroes - The Quilt
The Spill Canvas - No Really, I'm Fine

Honorable mention, Just because i'm from colorado
    3OH!3 - Want

I saw gojira with in flames... They were amazing and stole the show. "from mars to sirius" is better than the new album though.

Also as people said, MGMT is awesome, as is French Kicks, No Age, Kings of Leon, Steve Aoki's Pillow face, all good too.

And though it came out in 2007, this was probably my most played CD of '08.

Only one that needs to be said for me.
Just listened to a few preview songs on Itunes and bought that. Never heard of them before but I really really liked it.

Yeah Six Demon Bag was fantastic, gonna be tough to top that. You're not missing much with The Man in a Blue Turban with a Face. Its a different type of album and doesn't have the same energy as the other two.

Ryan aka Honus-Honus, the lead singer of Man Man, used to serve me coffee while I was at school in Philadelphia. Nice guy.

I almost forgot Mates of State's Re-Arrange Us.

Only band I wanted to get off the stage. I felt kind of bad about it because I respect their musicianship, but jesus christ what an earsoar.

I dont like Nas at all, never will. Joe Budden's album was 10X better, as well as 808's and heartbreaks, if you want to say rap album of the year.

I didn't list the Nas album because he sold out with the album title change. I thought that he would be the last artist to sell out. Oops.

Yeah, it was more of "he had to" type deal. Even Congress was involved in the whole bs.
