Treasure Casket - Initial Findings

Well, I just got done exping off of some Tough Crabs i Qufim on my 25SMN with Herder's Subligar. I only fought Tough. Was netting 160 or 200exp per crab. Im on PS2 so its hard to do all the math. I actually had a notebook and made tallys on hits + misses. lol. Fought about 5 Crabs (long ass fights). Using only carbuncle... My Attacks came to 553. Landed were 502. 51 Missed. Need to do some tests without subligar tonight to see if I notice a difference. Dont get off work til 1am est though. Will post more when I test it.

I can't get to Alla from my work here to link it, but on the BST forums some people parsed the subligar and are guessing it is a flat +10 Acc for pets. Pretty Solid IMO.

As for me, I am 0/4 on brown chests after like 3-4hrs of farming for them. I also get the worst clues ever and have failed at least 6 chests. Stuff like..

*Between 35-50. (pretty nice)
*First digit is even. (sweet it's 4X)
*First digit is 3,4,5. (no shit, wtf)
*You guess a 1/10 chance and fail.

Also, ALL of my chest in S.Champ. have only given me 4 chances. Is it random or does it depend on the mob you kill or the zone?

I've noticed that after a billion locked chests in East/West Ronfaure, every single one of them offered 5 attempts.

In Sauromugue Champaign and Behemoth's Dominion, it fluctuated between 4~6 attempts.

those aren't bullshit hints, those are great hints. After 2 clues, you know that the number is either 15, 16, or 17, then you waste 3 clues for no reason.

Agreed. You had to pick 16, and if it was higher, you know 17 is right, lower and it was 15. How did you not pop that chest.

dont forget that guesses can be used as hints as well. after your third hint you had it narrowed down to 15, 16 or 17. guessing 16 wouldve told you higher or lower.

haha yea i had one just like that, dont remember the exact numbers but i had it narrowed down to lets say 21, 22, or 23 with 2 chances left. for some reason i picked 21 and was wrong then tried 22 and was wrong then sat there a minute and slapped myself.

Three of us leveling 18s together. Ran through La Theine... got perhaps 3-4 temp item chests (with a few items in each, remedy, echos, eye drops, a few potions).. One locked chest on the way there, I picked up an ether.

In Valk, running to get the quest, another chest, tomato juice.

Doing FoV, and random gobs between waiting for the hour to pass, did 3 pages, got perhaps 10 or so chests over the span of killing things (1 locked, rest temps). Had to repeatedly explain to our friend playing the war that he should leave the ethers and juices for the two of us (blu & pld)...

Ive kept pretty up to date with the thread and not sure if this has been asked or not, but can someone who already has the R/E item from a zone open the chest and the item still be in there for someone else in the party? Cuz we need 2 pairs of Gothic for me and my GF, and i already have Gaunts.

Rambler's Gaiters was the only item in the chest. Might be leveling SCH soon, so that's kind of nice.

Oi, probably have spent like 15 hours in BD, maybe seen 6 brown chests, unlocked 4, and only have Grain Seeds to show for it. Gets annoying when I have to try to outkill other competition on like the 25-30 mobs in zone or whatever.

I am probably now going on upwards of literally 60+ successfully unlocked brown treasure caskets with no rare/ex items inside. I have been killing shit across Behemoth's Dominion, Sauromugue Champaign, Rolanberry Fields, Sarutabaruta, and Ronfaure, and inside every damn casket, I have only received meds, logs, ores, and the occasional shitty leather trousers or the like.

Is this normal? People saying they had 2 herder's in a chest is becoming like Salvage screenshots of 10 hikazu feet dropping in one run, to me.

Does the number of caskets depend on the area or is it 16 Treasure caskets per area?
If they differ, what are the numbers for each area?

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but it seems that if you're in a party you get less chances at guessing the combination on a locked casket. I was in Behemoth's Dominion for a few days and got between 4-6 chances at guessing the combination. However when I went with a couple of friends to help out with War AF, for all the locked caskets they got two guesses. I guess everyone has to help with guessing the combination if you're in party, but never got a chance to try this.

Think its random. I got the h2h in qufim while soloing xp there on a 5 guess casket.
