Just got Gothic Feet. 1/5 on gloves, 1/4 on feet

While I was farming the feet, I put on the hands to test the spikes. I got hit 77 times and the spikes proc'd 4 times. I know thats not much info, but thats all I was able to do atm

Almost lost the feet because my inventory was full from killing random crap all day long. Luckily it just said "Come back after sort your inventory" and I had time to toss some stuff and grab it again before the chest went poof.

I'm beginning to wonder if getting exp from said mobs might increase the rate of locked and/or rate of equipment being in a locked casket. Everything I've been killing has been on 75 DNC or PUP.

Also, I am now upwards of 70+ unlocked caskets with nothing to show for it. I continue out of spite now.

Bringing a friend and watching 2-3 movies while you farm locked chests seems to help too. >_>

Well I've gotten 3 items in a total of 10 opened chests with lvl 75 character. both gothic items and custodes. I don't think level increases/decreases your chances of anything.

Gothic set is +5 attack bonus. I assume the same ranged attack too.

Edit: And it seems either they upped the ice spikes rate of the full set or individual pieces. I just fought an EP monk gigas on my 46 war and got 7 procs in 1 fight.

Went 1/1 on gothic hands, now working on hour 16 of the feet getting horrible clues leaving me with 1/3 or 1/5 chance of success at the end (I majored in math, so believe me its not user error or bad choices). I would say im about 10/30 or so on unlocking boxes with of course no feet.

This is starting to get rediculous, I dont even want the feet anymore, now its just a matter of principle.

I went about 1/25 total brown chests for getting the feet, and about 1/20 total brown chests for getting the hands. I spent 6 days total doing this, going for almost exactly 3 hours a trip. I think the 'droprate' for the feet and the hands is the same, and the thing that makes the feet worse is the lack of mobs in the zone. The number of guesses in BD was kinda shitty too, where I would say I got on average 4.5 guesses in BD, and about 5.5 guesses in Xarcabard.

Chest drop frequency seemed to change quite a bit too. I'm sure it's based on some static random factor, but getting nothing for 2 hours and then getting 3 brown chests in 10 minutes is kinda weird. I always wondered what was in those several chests I failed to open each time too. With my luck, it was always the R/EX armor.

I might get around to testing the proc rate later this week. I am curious if the rate is based on mob level, or if it is just a straight % chance per piece.


Edit: And just to confirm, the Attack bonus for having both pieces on is +5 attack. That is totally seperate from the attack you gain from the +3 STR on the hands.

That's like me right now. I just unlocked SCH last week and wanted to get Rambler's Gaiters in the brown chests in Rolanberry. Nice shoes for a low level with +2 INT on them. The +5 Eva would be nice for surviving if I go the pets route. So far I've spent 10 hours farming chests, and come away with a handful of Ethers (+1 as well), and 6 Potion+3's.

Like many others, it's more of the principle factor like "FU shoes! I WILL get you!" Then of course you start to wonder if they were in the chests you couldn't unlock. Starting to hate the 4 clue chests that are like:
- You have a hunch the second digit is odd
- You have a hunch the first digit is odd
- You have a hunch one of the digits is 5, 6, or 7
- Have fun guessing on your last attempt!

I got a herder's subligar last night after around 5-6 hours total farming, went 1/10 on the chests (although I failed the first couple).

Looks like it'll be useful for when I need to pet-kite something to death - especially evasive NMs, where pets have trouble taking and keeping hate.

I stayed afterwards to help a fellow farmer get his item - he was at least 0/10 and maybe a lot more. Still hadn't gotten it for him by the time I had to leave.

I'm not going to say the ammount of time I've put in for G.Sabatons lol . .but its a good amount so far. Still no luck, the 4 hint chests kill me sometimes, the clues they give you are 99% vague.

Happy day. Got my gothic gloves this morning (after ~12 hours total farming in Xarc), then got my firefly right after it (~20 hours farming).

Been in BD for four hours now, no emo booties yet. zzz Wish bats dropped something useful, I could be making money while doing this. Hope it takes less time than the other two pieces...

Caskets seem to depop rather quickly, which is irritating. I've been soloing DNC and doing Fields of Valor at the same time, so I'm in zones where I still get aggro, and mobs still take a fair amount of time to kill. If a casket drops while I have aggro/links on me, I have to kill the mob first and then get to the chest, and by the time I kill the mobs (EM to T usually) the chest is gone. This has happened to me quite a few times, and it's starting to piss me off.

Maybe I should start bringing a PL/aggro bitch to take care of my aggro so I can open up chests.

Caskets seem to depop rather quickly, which is irritating. I've been soloing DNC and doing Fields of Valor at the same time, so I'm in zones where I still get aggro, and mobs still take a fair amount of time to kill. If a casket drops while I have aggro/links on me, I have to kill the mob first and then get to the chest, and by the time I kill the mobs (EM to T usually) the chest is gone. This has happened to me quite a few times, and it's starting to piss me off.

Maybe I should start bringing a PL/aggro bitch to take care of my aggro so I can open up chests.

Seem to last like 3 minutes if my mistake in chain killing is any indication. When I was up in Xarc I made a small train of 5 demons and a brown dropped on the second kill. By the time I killed the others (took like 45-60s a kill), it depopped just as I clicked.
