No they cant open the Casket unless they are in the party when it was dropped (or added in after? unconfirmed) I have tried to open Caskets that were just sitting there to confirm this and was unable to open both locked and unlocked Caskets.

Bah, after failing on two items chests I got a decent Temp Chest off a Demon Knight.

Im not going to bother recording Temp chests in my OP, but it is good to know that you can get Daedalus Wings, still waiting for someone to confirm getting a Revitalizer.

i xp'd in qufim and only got 1 unlocked chest and 0 locked in an hour and half, so apparently killing in an xp spot doesn't help your odds
