Treasure Casket - Initial Findings

Picked up the Mammut (G.axe) in Meri. Mountains off of a Crane Fly. Combination was 47, and I was on War if that helps.

on PS2 but can confirm that Pestle drops @ Buburimbu Peninsula (sp). Went like 1/20 on unlocking caskets til it finally dropped.

Just started in Sauromauge Champione (sp) and recently got a Brass Mask in a Casket where I started with 4 Chances. Was easy clues.

*1 of the numbers is a 2*
*The number is between 33 and 51*

Gonna keep working @ that damn subligar.

I don't remember if this way mentioned anywhere, or maybe I'm just being dumb, but do mobs need to yield exp in order for a casket to drop?

This was probably from the statement about Fields of Valor, the mobs needed to yield exp to count towards your regime.

These caskets are completely unrelated and almost any mob you kill can drop one.

From my experience, the following mobs can't drop caskets:

Pet mobs
Goblin Bounty Hunters
Elementals (nevermind!)
Notorious Monsters

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I still haven't gotten any drops, 0/20 brown in Xarc, honestly what the heck, also when people keep saying which mobs drop chests, which don't, I'm presuming EVERYTHING does, I've gotten blue chests off the Shadow Dragon & Ice Elementals, so free slaughtering and maybe hunting for the weaker mob may work, or hunting for one closer to your level(speculation a page or two back) may work as well.

This is very luck based I'm thinking, or SE is getting even on my nyzul static for getting drops.

I wasn't assuming every mob couldn't drop a Casket. I was stating an idea that only certain mobs can drop Brown Treasure Caskets. I obtained a ton of blue caskets off every type a mob in Xarc, but only Demon Pawns, Evil Eyes, and Lost Souls dropped the Brown Item chests. I don't know if there's a pattern it was just an observation.

I had one chest that went something like this:

1) First number is 2.
2) First number is even.
3) First number is even.
4) Number is between 19-31.

*facepalm*

I also had one that went:
1) First number is odd.
2) Second number is odd.
3) First number is odd.
4) Second number is odd.

Yeah. Way to narrow that down for me. Thanks.

Where'd you find coeurls in BD? o.O

There is at least one spawn in the 'upper' path in BD, still near the cermet wall. I killed it many times last night.

I spent a few hours in BD yesterday. I got some good hints but I was always between two numbers like 77 or 67 and I always guessed the wrong one. I went 0/7+ -_-; I need to try again when less people are there.

I've spent the last couple days farming chests out in Beaucedine, no rare/ex item yet. (Although I've only seen like 3 locked chests today vs. 40~ unlocked -_-)

Best clues I've seen yet are: (4-try chest)
"You have a hunch the first number is odd." Alright.
"You have a hunch that the first number is 2, 3, or 4." Solves that one.
"You have a hunch that the first number is 3." Wait, but...

At this point I was pretty stumped so I hit 30 and got it right. xD

I wouldn't surprised if I get laughed out of this thread, but reckon treasure hunter may increase the pop rate of chests? Could be viewed in a way as another drop from mobs

I didn't really notice an increase in chest pops in Sauromungue Champaign between my 75 cor or 75 thf, not extensive testing just from Eye Ball' n it.
