All things you need more than one person to do(in most cases) with the exception of gardening which can be a huge pain in the ass. I don't see how NPCing these items is any different than farming Lady Bug wings or Tiger fangs for quests. What about Oxblood? Are these going to be nerfed next?

I doubt any HNM shells are going to lower their prices as a result of this change either. Where will people who used to farm these items get their money for R/Ex items now? >.>;

There is no stopping RMT. End of story! to stop RMT you would have to stop any means that ANY player can use to make money. We are all players RMT or not and we all try our best to get the most gil for our time spent and the camps they just killed fit those VERY well. When I need to get loose change for things like food, teleports, limbus fees, einherjar fees, reraise items, tools, oils/powders whatever consumables we all use daily Zitah and the beach have always been there. I didn't need anyone to help me, I could do it when I wanted and for how long I wanted to. That convenience is a big part of why people are so pissed off, I work like everyone else and I don't have time to farm for hours to meet basic needs to play this game. 1 hour in zitah would yield me anywhere from 40-60k depending on how crowded it was which was more than enough for a casual player like me to continue to do the things I like to do with my ls and friends. Why more people aren't against this silly addition to the update is beyond me. Do you have unlimited funds? are you one of those lucky people who cashed in on the inflation days and is sitting on tons of gil? Wait let me guess, you managed to get some craft to 100 back when crafting wasn't broken as shit. All the people i've heard in the update thread and this one have lots to say about moving on and stop QQing but don't provide any real suggestions for a steady soloable quick income. If anyone can come up with at least 8-10 places you can make 30-50k in an hour as a lowbie job or a 75 I'd be really interested to here them. Lucky xxNM just doesn't cut it and neither does HNM, or HL crafting. Seriously, back up your bullshit with some evidence or gtfo.

I'm all for this, it was completely unnecessary and should be patched. Don't give up on this! They need to answer to our gil concerns or go fuck themselves.

ALl those, if you includ the time it gets to complete ( gather a PT, get IS, get seals, grow stuff) are at least 10 times less money for the effort, and are actuall CRAP gil/hour.


Edit: well except for some ENMs that are still worth the trouble (blau dolch, torreador rings and hagun, sicne the time required to get the key item isn't retarded)

I don't farm the items that have been adjusted myself but I know ppl who do and would agree that it's going to hit some of them pretty hard in the pocket. However mentioning the coffer/chest update kind of undermines the argument for me as that seems like a good move where there is a benefit to the player base that outweighs the negative side imo.

For anyone who does farm for their gil probably the best thing to do would be to watch the RMT on your server. Their jobs depend on finding good farming spots and they'll probably move on to the next best thing in the next week or so.

I think they made a mistake by gimping Castle V Demon's drops. However, buggard is ok to me, as I know that a lot of rmt have been spamming them. For Castle V, having a THF 75 is pretty much a requirement for getting anything to drop. Having another person curing and hasting too is needed or your gil/h drops a lot, so I think it doesn't hurt rmt at all, just normal farmers.

For me personnally it doesn't change anything, there are plenty of other stuffs that are good to farm still, even for NPCing purpose.

Nope, still pure shit as far as gil/time goes. My enm group is 1/13 on hagun. Once a week all four of us doing this for 13 weeks when it finally dropped only one person really got anything. 3/4 people have hagun-less SAM75s and 4/4 all wanted to get paid for 13 weeks of this bullshit. Discounted hagun to the highest lot in our group gave 3/4 people 350k each for 13 weeks of work, and 2/3 of us still don't have a hagun or anywhere close to the money needed to buy one. 13 weeks of farming blood between 4 people probably would have gotten us enough money to buy us all haguns rather than wasting time on SE and the tight ass drop rates they insist on keeping =).

ok, but ENM vahzl takes 5 minutes to get the key item, 10 minutes to move up, and 5 minutes to complete. still ok for a 3+Mill item that drops 1/15 of the time imo. We've been lucky on BD ENM and I actually never did hagun, just heard its good.

Ullegerand ENMs are a complet waste of time ( too long to climb and IF you fail its over.., then you have to wait fr the stupid weather), Marvolpolos ones as well (take too long to get the key item). Rivern B is poor reward for long time to get the key item ( have to farm scale etc), and promyvion ENMs just never drop anything, and when they do drop something its of course the 5k earring.

Regardless of spelling, Roaringhedgehog had a point. SE is closing holes they left open for too long.
But on the other hand, FFXI is the only RPG (on- or offline), where killing normal monsters doesen't give you reasonable reward over time. All ways to make Gil are either completely luck based or require unreasonable Gil and time investments.

Ehh, wish I knew... I'm quite lazy so it's not like I've worked hard or anything.. hi-ether/potion/reraises from assaults add up... I could also sell stuff like potent belts if I could save my points. Gardening makes me 100k or so with 3mules a week.. ENM50 can be nice although random, and of course BC/KSNM's bring nice cash. Selling dyna coins & alexandrites & ABC's add up too.

People need to just go back to the golden oldies of repeatable quests, like tiger fangs, or the new addition of ladybug wings, or even low level fishing/mining/logging. Theres still ifrits cauldron, or newton movalpolas, or logging places for bloodwood logs.
