From your post I assumed you were one of those sheep who follow around a ls leader with 14 relics all funded by the bank and you were qqing about it.

Fact is they nerfed a way that a lot of people make money and it sucks, but there are still plenty of ways if people do some research. I would say that 95% (yes I know that 93% of all statistics are made up) of all the people who were farming these items learned about them beacuse RMT found them first and they were just following suit. Eventually rmts will find a new item to npc, and everyone will flock to that. On the other hand the 5% of people who actually found them before the rmt, will find new ways themself in the same manner they did before. So yea it sucks but people will move on.
I agree fully. However I do not believe SE nerf'd this because the RMT were using it. I'm still sticking with the fact that SE nerfs every legitimate 'good' source of income. I can't say why but until someone shows me a time where SE hasn't I doubt anyone can convince me otherwise. Until someone does I also don't see how anyone can say SE doesn't nerf legitimate 'good' sources of income that RMT aren't involved in. People, instead of whining could very easily find a new source of income. As I've stated above even crafting nowadays is very profitable. I also see no reason for a letter to be sent to SE about this manner. I don't recall anyone sending one off for any other income nerfs.

(The fishing update was a nerf)
Or, it could be that RMT just go where the money is and SE isn't really out to steal your own personal piggy bank.

But I don't know, logic just seems to be way overrated lately. /sigh

I agree that this nerf is a huge kick in the teeth. I also agree that there definately seems to be an effort made to prevent players from NPC'ing. I don't know why, but there is.

Lazy? These spots weren't lazy, they were good. Without a craft above 60 yet, and seeing the impending doom, I have been searching for a ligitimate alternative for several months now. Well given the fact that my 75 job is DRG and my thf isn't very high, nothing came close to Beast blood.

On the other hand, getting them to reverse this is futile. It would be like putting a big neon sign above these spots and they will be simply impossible to farm anymore. The only thing we can do is let them know that we don't like the decision and prey that an alternative is created or not yet discovered.

God, the amount of QQing in this thread.

Money is easy to make. There are tons of things you can still farm -- just do a little work to figure a new thing out!

You can garden for lack of anything else... or as you farm!

All that fails, level a craft. Don't listen to lazy people who say there's no money in crafting. I make a shitton of gil daily with little effort. Hell, I just finished talking alchemy to 100 and I made profit almost the entire way.

Look, if people don't want to make money, that's fine. But don't go giving away the easy stuff . I'll actually have to work if it's all given away. <3

    That didn't come out right:

    Translation - I agree.

And you can still get gil easily with NPC sellables... even without competition :/.

While I basically agree with you, and that there are still many places to make money if people look, I do have to say that at least some of the QQing is justified because there really was no reason to do this nerf. Money is going to get into the hands of RMT inevitably, and I think it would have been better if SE had focused on what happens when the gil gets there instead of just ruining it for legitimate and illegitimate farmers both.

There's a lot of truth in this debate about better ways to farm gil. I personally used bugard farming, but I took it beyond that and camped 2 NMs while doing so. This sometimes paid out decent, usually better then BCNMs or KCNMs, which is great when you just need a quick 30-100k to buy something. But here's what I'd like to point out.

BCNMs: Take a while to get seals, usually not worth the trip. Very few BCNM drops are worth anything anymore. K-clubs and PCCs barely ever drop, I've still yet to see either with over 60 attempts at K club, and probably 20 at PCC.

KCNMs: Take a while to get seals, best to save to 99. 99 requires a full alliance, 6-9 people who are good.

ISNMs: SHITTY WAY TO MAKE GIL!!!

ENMs: Good way to make gil, when good drops fall. Not always reliable.

Crafting: If you don't have a craft leveled to begin with, you'll have to have a serious chunk of change just to lvl. Except alchemy which as stated before is profit to skill to 100, what's not stated is that profit is little to none at 100.

All this being said, what about newer players who don't even have a 75 job yet. Reducing these NPCable drop items are going to yield more Domaru Sams, and NQ Ame's. This will hurt certain crafting sales, and make for more posts on the Gimped Confused thread.

One last point: Farming is something you can do solo, while all your linkshell and friends are asleep and/or occupied with something stupid. So once again as stated in the other thread on update notes.

    Fuck you S.E!

Good luck on the letter, more power to you if it works. I doubt it'll be changed though.

I would be pissed if I were still farming at those locations but I'm not since I moved my farm spot a long time ago. Those places are overflowed with RMTs on my server. I am constantly being outcamped. Now I farm at places like Davoi and Castle-O. It is still pretty good and can net me 50k+/hr same as the other places. Mid range Yagudo and Orcs drops lots of armors and scrolls that I NPC. They go about 1k-4k a pop and drops them often. I just go on a rampage with my pup/thf or smn/thf.

SE gets lots of mail daily. They'll probably just throw this in a pile of letters labeled "Fan Mail". Of course the next step after that is FFVII for the PS3 or FFX-3.

You sound so retarded. Where do you think all the gil come from?

    #1) Mobs that drops gil
    #2) Sell shit to NPC
    #3) Quest

When they interrupt the overflow of gil, it EFFECTS EVERYONE.

If you just got Kicked in the teeth by this update, I have news. The last however many years you have been playing this game have all been a lie.

As for the QQing, SE needs to keep gil flow in check, and when they see a massive % of people NPCing shit and exploiting how much stuff is worth there over the AH, about 3 things immediatly go to their mind:

    -What about the Crafters?
    -Do I smell RMT?
    -ZOMG inflationz!

Putting the NPC value on some of this stuff down puts it on AH to promote crafting with it, cuts the RMT back, and cuts new gil coming onto the server by 1/3 on those chars* (assuming people keep farming it, which they wont). Whats that all mean; more abundance of items, and ironically less demand for them because no one can afford them now (or at least all the QQers) so prices drop again and you all get your wish after suffering. Just my take on the issue.

*On those characters only and on those items only. In no way am I saying gil flow actually just got cut by 1/3. Just trying to ballpark it, use that as a guideline of me saying gil influx took a hit.

This thread is being filled with asshole comments like "omg you can't make gilz? gilz are easy, you just fail LULZ!" and none of you are posting anything to back up your bullshit. Seriously, give yourself a challenge if you think your so fucking smart at making gil. Start a new character a mage job would be ideal seeing as it would be really hard to afford gear AND the ridiculous NPC price for spells (funny how they don't change these) i'd love to see how a from scratch red mage would get to 75 with anything but piss poor gear until artifact and if he is lucky only a third of his spells.

If your going to stomp on us farmers QQing about some of the last camps available for decent farming then give us an alternative you smug pricks.

a good point that is being made is that FF has always been fucked when it comes to making money as you play. Monsters drop fuck all and players are forced to derail from what they want to do and go farm for 40 hours just to get pretty basic shit.

There is a reason people are really pissed off about this, we've accepted every damn nerf they come out with and its finally gotten to the point where there just aren't any decent farming spots left. everytime they kill off a camp they force all those refugees RMT and legit players alike into any other camps where gil is decent and then that camp gets overfarmed and shut down. it never fucking ends. So we have what? three options left?
xxNM for random waste of time and seals praying for a fucking 7% drop? level a craft to HL with some other source of money reserved for just this purpose, cause its fucking easy and cheap to take shit to 100+3 and HQ cerb mantles +1. or garden... whoopie shit =p now we can have everyone garden ores and tree saplings and crash those markets.

Bit late but I got a good laugh at the guy who said the Rusty Cap change was a legitimate source of income.

Even if RMT weren't so prevalent at that time, how many of those Rabao fishers do you think were actually legit players sitting there typing /fish? I might not agree with this change, but that one was a good one (I do miss 10K light crystal stacks though).

I upgraded 3 full salvage sets by farming demons over one year.. lets say 40 mil+ by regular farming. thats not an efficient way of making money indeed.

"Okay guys, here's how I make gil!" = Everyone and their dog will be doing the same thing, and suddenly the markets crash!

Anyway. 3 of my RL friends started playing, They're 55 now, and they haven't had to farm once. Money quests have given them everything they need (SAM has jujitsu gi, koryukagemitsu camped bounding boots etc.). At start its rough, but as you get access to other areas it's easier and easier: at least by the time you could farm those nerfed items you could also do these quests.

If you also think ores and saplings are the money makers in gardening... think again :3.
