Ok bitches I have a sore throat so I eat a Halls I had in my work drawer. Now you know how lifesavers and hard candy can have one spot erode quicker and it makes a small hole in it that ends up being pretty fucking sharp? Yeah so I wasn't paying attention and sliced into the roof of my mouth. It's been bleeding for about an hour now. I'm at work and need both hands free because I'm working on two different projects dumped on my lap at the last minute and I really mean it when I say I can't even spare ten minutes to put direct pressure on it.

Long and short of it, mouth bleeding, Brill swallowing bloody water, need miracle cure. I currently have a piece of Winterfresh gum plastered on it to keep from swallowing more blood.

I'd just press my tongue against the cut and create some suction. Breath through your nose while doing this. The suction should draw blood to the wound, but as long as your tongue makes a good seal over the cut it should all stay at the surface and allow it to coagulate and slow the bleeding.

Depends how bad the cut is. I managed to (don't laugh) puncture the roof of my mouth with a fucking McDonald's french fry a month ago. It bled for about 1-3 hours pretty consistently.

I took a dry paper towel and applied some pressure to it. If you can't manage that, then you'll have to suck it up or call in sick for the rest of the day.

At the very least start swishing some warm salt water in your mouth.

Do NOT read the web MD stuff. It will scare you out of your mind by telling you to call the doctor or go to the ER immediately. You probably won't need to do this. It'll heal up on it's own in about 3-4 weeks.

p.s. Whatever you do, don't cause pressure in your mouth as if you are spitting. This will force more blood out of the cut.

I sliced the roof of my mouth with a sliver of almond in a cream cheese spread on my bagel once. It bled for a couple hours. The difficult part is that you want to create suction to gather the blood in one spot in your mouth to swallow, but that just continually reopens the cut. I'd try spitting (or better, drooling) the blood/spit mixture into a container and try to keep pressure on it with your tongue and a piece of kleenex.

I know it sucks hard, and I'm sorry, but yeah - just like any other cut but bleeds forever.

If you can get a piece of clean cotton dressing (like from a first aid kit), or failing that, a clean paper towel, keep that pressed against the wound with your tongue or such. The rough, fibrous surface will help encourage it to clot and stop bleeding.

luckily the mouth heals faster than any other part of the body, if you can find any cotton or gauze thats probly your best bet
