My old kitty had freaking rocket legs, he could get to the top of our bookshelves (which were about 6 1/2 feet high) without trouble before he got old and creaky.

Anyone else have a cat that sleeps on their head at night?
My fiance's cat is notorious for that shit. We'll be laying down in bed and he'll jump up on the pillow and form his body right around her head.


We are also getting an Australian Shepard puppy soon! He's already paid for, but is hanging out with the breeder until we close on our house (2-3rd week in October). Not gonna lie.... the photos here are what pushed us to get one. The dog is really my fiance's, we'll each be getting a dog I just haven't decided what I want yet.


It's going to be narrowed down between:

-English Mastiff
-Pembroke Welsh Corgi
-St. Bernard


I have loved Corgis for a long ass time, and it's pretty much the only "smaller" sized dog I'd ever want aside from a Beagle. That being said, I'd love to have a huge dog.

Driving a Mastiff around in a Miata would be fucking awesome lol.

I'd vote the corgi as well out of those 3, but I may be just a tad biased.

I know you said you wanted a pem, but I'd look into the Cardigans too if you haven't. They seem to get looked over quite a bit since they're not as common as the cute bunny-butt pems, but they're very nice dogs. They get a bit bigger and come in purdy colors too (not that you should choose a dog just for color, but hey it's nice to have variety).

any pics of your aussie yet? You're gonna love it, they're so fucking smart, prolly even too smart. took my mom like 20 minutes to teach it sit and shake, only took him 5 minutes to learn how to open up drawers

but I've had cats in the past that sleep on my head.. but now so does the corgi. Either that or his fat ass will sleep on my chest and ill wake up in the middle of the night gasping for air.

Yeah, it makes me sad to think about how bad of a reputation some breeds have. There are occasionally larger breeds with nervy or unstable temperaments, but that can easily be avoided by doing your homework before buying a dog from a shitty "breeder." Don't even get me started on the massive amount of smaller dogs with awful temperments. Gah. Owners should be held responsible for their pets' actions--the owners are almost always the cause when something bad happens. If there's one thing people have NO shortage of, it's ignorance.

Pretty much, little dogs are the biggest instigators in most cases. Most people think it's "cute" but to a dog, it's another dog, it doesn't care that it weighs 10 lbs vs 80lbs. If it's coming at it aggresively then eventually the other dog is going to treat it as a threat. Big dogs fault? No. If it was in reverse people would freak out.

No kidding. I was at petsmart, and this old broad turns down the aisle I was standing in and SHRIEKS. I mean, she seriously screamed like someone stabbed her. Since she was obviously afraid of my dog, I made him sit off to one side of the aisle, told her he was friendly, and assured her that all he may do is lick her if she walked by. She slowly approached us, and as she got closer, her little rat of a dog started going apeshit in the cart. The thing was snapping, barking, snarling, and trying to eat its way out of the cart to get to mine (who was still just sitting there wagging his nub of a tail). She didn't even say a thing to or acknowledge her dog. As she passed me, she gave me a disgusted look and had the audacity to tell me that dogs like MINE shouldn't be allowed in public places.

Bitch, please. I wanted to curbstomp that woman. I've encountered so many people like that since I've had him, too.

I met a pittie that was hanging out of a car window in the parking lot today. He was such a baby, just let me pet and cuddle him for 5 minutes while I talked to his owner. I love those dogs, I would love to adopt one but ignorant landlords make it difficult to get an apartment if you own one.

corgis are so awesome. I'd get one but I work way too much right now to take on the responsibility of a puppy. This is one of my client's dogs. She's 5 years old and REALLY loves to fetch

For sure, especially true with local Humane Societies, at least mine, because it's always the bigger, misunderstood dogs that are being put down in huge numbers, not because they're unfit as pets, but because people don't want them. Pit Bulls are almost always leading the pack because of the fighting stereotype as well as what I believe is like this "guy dog" mentality where if you have a Pit Bull he needs to be mean and aggressive and fucking huge.

That shit drives me crazy. Almost every day of last week these new neighbors have let their dogs roam free around the neighborhood and it's usually this little chihuahua that will approach us while we're walking; barking and freaking out, they think it's no big deal at all because they seem to consider him harmless. Needless to say they really didn't know what the fuck at the time as after I knocked on their door with both of their dogs hovering a safe distance away from us, little kids spilled out into the street chasing the dog. My brother had been hit by a car while skateboarding on the same street and these jerks just have the entire 10 & under side of the family running around, I was floored.

holy :3 Congratulations, they're beautiful dogs. Before you settled on corgis I was going to suggest something a little smaller than a mastiff just because of how much fun I have playing with my lab, but Corgi Flop & Corgi Flop 2 are pretty good arguments lol.
