Got him from the Humane Society--he apparently was featured on Oprah (before we got him--so they said) during a segment about Humane Societies. He definitely acts like he's a star.

Anyone here with multiple dogs in an apartment setting? I currently live in a small apartment with a 40 pound terrier mix and looking to get a small dog (5-15 pounds range) at the start of the next year, just wondering if others have luck with multiple dogs in an apartment setting. My dog gets plenty of exercise, usually a walk per day and a trip to the dog park every weekend.

We considered getting a 2nd dog, but right now we're not ready. I would think w/ terrier blood it would require more than a walk per day. Our lab goes on about 3-4 20 minute walks a day and occasionally goes to the dog park on the weekends.

Well he gets much more mental exercise indoors between frozen kongs, bully sticks, antlers and tracheas. We're hoping that another dog would give him more physical exercise indoors.

If the two dogs get along and play well together they can provide some entertainment for one another, but I don't think it's really going to increase their indoor exercise by much. My two run and play like crazy in my fenced yard but they don't do a lot of running around in the house. Another thing to consider is that not all dogs are going to be buddy-buddy with one another, if for some reason they don't get along very well it may be difficult to deal with in a small apartment.

She has been having liver problems for last month. Wednesday was at the vet and seemed great and was doing better. Then last night when I came home she was lying on the ground struggling to breath and making just horrible cries. I knew it was her time, but wanted my sister and brother to be there so we took her to emergency care and they kept her overnight to try to keep her long enough but she passed away an hour before we were supposed to come.

Suddenly, I realize how selfish I was.
