Semi-new cat that I adopted from my girlfriend's friend. No idea what kind he is. People keep asking me. "He is a cat, sir."

I have no clue how it happened. I'm a dog person. Also, slightly allergic. But still - cat, I have. Wat.
I was never allergic to anything until about junior year in high school. BAM. Since then, spring and cats make me want to die. Dogs onry. Plus, cats are almost always moody assholes so I'm usually not missing out on anything.
Our new addition to the Family. 4 month old Maltese. His name is Enzo Ferrari
Spoiler: show
Kitties being cute, trying to keep warm. I found them like this after taking my kids to school the other day, my computer chair has a heating pad on it, so they all piled on while I was gone ^^

Getting a husky as my first dog. Any advice?
Get ready for some stubbornness. They are very smart... they catch on to commands/tricks extremely fast, but will start to refuse to do shit for you unless there is an obvious and immediate reward for them... work with that in mind and begin to reward them for only excellent responses once they have the basic commands down. Once they've got their shit down pat, reward them 50% or less and have something nearby to give them at all times so they don't assume you have nothing if they don't immediately smell it. They also love to just fuckin' run wherever. I have an Alaskan Malamute (very similar)/Timberwolf mix and I would ignore when people say you "need" a yard/space for them to run in unless you're just not very active. I live in an apartment and we've taught her to generally stay pretty close (8 months old now) and she tears ass around the grassy area outside of our place for 15 minutes and then comes back and chills out, and that's only if I don't have the time or the weather just blows for going for a little jog.
Also, get a Furminator for the shedding, it will be plentiful.
Oh yeah, and prepare for separation anxiety leading to chewing of things you don't want them to chew. Luckily, my girlfriend and I generally work from home so we could be on top of anything she did wrong to immediately (key word) reprimand her to make sure she knows the difference between her toys and a piece of furniture.
After your Husky, you'll be able to train any dog. Good luck to you. Very smart, very stubborn, a lot of energy, and very friendly to everyone. (Jumping up on people is a frequent issue that needs to be disciplined from the get-go).
