Firefox All Jittery

It's an odd problem, I was removing some shit from my computer with HjT! that MBAM/SB:S&D wasn't picking up (with a friend's help, who generally has a clue) and it all went swimmingly, until I popped open Firefox. It'll randomly stop and pause for a second or so after I click on links or open a new page, loads a bit slower too (Google Chrome is also doing this, not just FF) and was wondering what I might have deleted that could have caused this and if there's a reasonable fix?

I'd rather not do a system rollback because the rest of my computer is going quite a bit better as it is, and losing that would rather irritate me (not a huge upgrade, but upgrade's an upgrade).

I haven't updated/changed anything else, no programs/add-ons, didn't update firefox etc...

i'd love to pretend like i was that concerned with removing stuff with HjT but I didn't save the before file >.>

on a side note, i keep getting some googleinstall error (do not send/send file report window) every couple of hours and i'm guessing it's related, though i don't know how?

have you tried simply reinstalling FF?

I had something similar (don't know if it was the same thing) and it would get fixed just by restarting firefox.

i've reinstalled firefox as well as just deleting the mozilla folder then completely reinstalling and nothing seems to work =(

All we've learned is that your friend is an idiot, and that you should probably try system restore.
