music in vent bot

ok I followed about 10 different guides on the net and I'm at this point

I can open multiple ventrilos now (-m)
I have virtual audio cable installed and set up
I am using a program called Xion (for now until I can figure out how to get itunes to run it) that will transmit it's sound directly into the virtual cable

I have set up a 2nd ventrilo as follows:

and no matter what I try, it will not play music over vent

I have a realtek audio card, and there is no option for "stereo mix" or "what you hear"
it's kinda very annoying..

any suggestions..

I suggest that you don't try to play music over vent. It seems like a cool idea, but it's annoying and everyone will mute it anyways.

If you keep it in a separate channel, I could see it being used, albeit rarely IMO.

Just run a shoutcast stream if you want to provide this, cuts down on the vent bandwidth >_>

I've played music over vent before but then I do have the option for "Stereo Mix" in my recording control window. The problem is I have to mute vent itself (that little check box on the bottom left of its window) or the others on the channel will make tons of echoes while I'm playing something. It's pretty funny when you want to rick-roll the whole channel or play something like (slightly nsfw music) that's guaranteed to get some kind of reaction.

I didn't run a whole other vent/login, just used what I was currently online with. Switched the recording control from mic to stereo mix and it worked with pretty funny results (got myself kicked for the rick-roll lol). At least on my ls's server it doesn't sound terrible. A bit better than AM radio quality for the codec used.

If anything you may want to try other audio drivers until you can get some kind of "what you hear" or "stereo mix" in your recording control since that's pretty much all you need to make it work. Look up your pc/mobo brand and chipset manufacturers and give it a shot with what drivers they give you.

Attached how it looks on my end.

I just click on stereo mix and whatever makes audio noise will get picked up by vent or any other audio recording program without any special settings.

someone suggested I try changing my entire sound output to virtual audio cable. didnt work either.. I think I'll need an older driver because new ones are apparently designed so ppl CANT record incoming sound.. go go stoping piracy but fing up 90 others thigns at the same time.

i'll get phrosty to post, he runs a jukebox on our vent in a separate channel so people can add phantoms to listen, has for a long time

I used a program called "style xp" which lets you change the layout of windows icons etc.
it's shareware so you'll eventually need to crack it TGTSoft StyleXP
also you need to fins websites with layout/schemes for free. lots of ppl like to charge :C
if you really want, I can try uploading the ones I use later

Is he trying to run this for elevator music on your channel as white noise?

Or is he perhaps trying to be an annoying cocksucker with sound boards, loops, feedback, et cetra?
