High Jump's "Decreases enemy TP" feature during 2hr

High Jump removes TP proportionate to damage dealt according to SE's update notes back in 05. My question is how proportionate is it? Can anyone have someone gain 300% TP in Ballista and then have a DRG Spirit Surge and high jump him and record how much damage it did and the remaining TP of the target after(Remember High Jump grants the target NO TP, so no need to account for it).

It would be awsome if it was a 1:1 ratio and a 250 high jump erased 250 tp.

Ballista results may be inaccurate. Take a mob, feed it TP with Sleep Bolts, Charm, check pet tp, uncharm, 2hr high jump with the bst spamming to re-charm to prevent a tp move, recheck pet tp.

Seriously though, want to be more specific? Just not aware High Jump did this with 2hr active?

Could you figure how much tp the monsters have with ABS tp?

Give 300 tp to an elemental --> Absorb tp and see how much you get back
    Jump --> Absorb tp again.

I'm not a drk, but I thought the unresisted tp stolen were constant.

I'm pretty sure ABS-TP can be resisted, which would skew the results.

Of course it can, but do you get resist on lv 30 mobs?

You can, and that's the reason it would not be wise to test it this way. The old BST charm method is the easiest way to do this.

I still dont understand why it wouldnt work if the number is static. It's easy to tell a resist apart from a normal spell usually.

If there is a cap, if tp returned isn't a linear function, if tp returned has a random factor...I understand why it wouldn't work. Otherwise, it's quite easy to test it this way imo.

And finding a lv75 drk is much easier than finding a lv75 bst. That's why I'm asking.

I remember tests showing 75% TP stolen in Ballista. Of course as someone mentioned, Ballista may not show correct figures.

Ya i agree Ballista wont always show you the results you want. But i could only assume that normal monster results would not be worse then Ballista right? Normally if anything, Ballista results will be worse. If 75% was shown in Ballista, i think its safe to assume that normal mobs it is at lease 75%

Do what the guy suggested with a BST friend and Charm. Shit, go DRG/BST and do it yourself.

You Charm something and make it hit other monsters until it has 300TP (you can see this by <pettp>.) Then you Spirit Surge, Leave, High Jump, Charm, and use <pettp> again. If you're fast enough (and high enough level) it won't be able to hit or TP move you.

Sorry to necrobump but maybe this will inspire some people tp test it for real.
Just tested this in brenner. I know its not accurate but usually in ballista things are toned down not toned up.

SAM got 226%TP, I High Jumped him for 120 and his TP afterwards was 0.
SAM got 300%TP, I High Jumped him for 238 and his TP afterwards was 0.

you could abs-tp repeatedly while the mob is slept/kited until abs-tp drains for 0 and add it up.

Someone tested that, and ended up getting more total TP from Absorb-TP than the enemy should have had. They fed controlled amounts of TP with Dia on a job combination with no Subtle Blow.
