Maybe you were seeing them when they were on the job they haven't played in 6 months or when they lost their macros. Either way, if a person can play 15+ jobs and rate average on 10 of them, while another person can play 3 jobs and rate good, I am not sure, but I would give the Maat's cap owner the nod on total overall game skill.
because the melee jobs differ so much from each other!

There are definitely a few highly-skilled Maat's Cap owners, but yes, the majority of them are morons.

Pretty much seen crappy and skilled maat's cap players as everyone said.

To me, a player with a maat's cap in possession just tells me 2 things:

    1) actually enjoy exp grinding
    2) you have too much free time

Too much free time, or excellent time management.

I've partied with one person... and that person was very adamant about grinding in the fastest way possible.

To be honest, a Maat cap only means you leveled 15 jobs to 66+.

Right now, I have 3 jobs maxed out in terms of levels. White Mage (My first), Monk (My Second), and Dragoon (My latest).

And as far as equipment goes, I'm more comfortable with my White Mage than I am with my Dragoon or Monk. Dragoon needs some non-existant gil dumped into it while MNK needs a few months at sky.

As far as people with 8 or more jobs. There's a reason why you're only allowed to pick a main and a secondary job to lot on. Plus, I can't imagine having 8 fucking jobs worth of equipment within the 230+ slots of inventory I have right now. I have 4 jobs worth of equipment with all AF (besides bard [4/5]) in storage. Invetory is 51/70 (PLD onry equipment, 2 event items, stuff I need to get rid of, and junk accumulated from leveling), Mog Safe 41/80 (Crap I need to find a place for/consumables), and Mog Locker (51/80). That's for four equipped jobs and some rare/ex. shit I have for other jobs.

Point is all those jobs takes up space, and some people want to be equipment whores because a Homan Hands might end up being a good replacement for 3 other jobs. Which is why they act like that.

But, in the end if you don't like it. Others must not like it as well. Just have a group breakup, start a new shell, and go on from that.

    Trolling?

Do you want to list all the melee jobs and expalin how they are all the same?

Nevertheless, I said jobs (not melee jobs). Do you think all mage and tanks jobs are the same as well?

I think that Maat's Cap players sucking ass is just the stigma. I kinda felt that way for awhile, and I totally lol at the play-style of most of these players insofar as they take shitty party invites just to make whatever they can possibly get per hour without a care for anything but their exp going up. In essence, they help really horrible players gain levels to achieve their own ends, which breaks my heart in two.

Anybody can be a good player, even if they spend a little too much time EXPing. As far as being total lootwhores, yea we have a Maat's Cap player in my linkshell that just lots everything she can possible get, and we had another one we kicked that was the exact same way. It's sad imo, but hey, if no one else wants it, at least it goes to someone who places some kind of "value" on it.

This is accurate. I suffer from it myself and my own cap. Despite the fact that most of the jobs in question are 75, despite the fact that the only jobs I have pulled out in the last 60 days are blm and brd and smn, it's very very tempting to collect equipment for other jobs.

For example, I love SAM and I'd love to get it out more. But there's no opportunity. Doesn't stop me from trying to play what if and hope to get it equipped and someday I'll play it...

Passing Askar to others in my ls is bloody hard tho'.

how about a better idea: explain how they aren't?
    /attack on -> build TP -> WS
    use equip macros
use JAs for offensive or defensive purposes as needed.

using Seigan/thirdeye, utsusemi, healing breath or any other defensive ability isn't any different: it's still you hitting no more then 2 macros for the purpose of "I should probably do this to keep myself alive"

    quite true in some aspect.

Maat cap enable you to lot everything in your LS because when asked about your job lvl, people can say "at least 66 and planning to lvl it to 75" fairly easily and trick their LS member

also true that not all maat cap owners are good at their jobs or well equiped, but at least they are "well equiped" on the head tho

as for all maat cap holders are good players argument, nothing much we can do. Its like sucky player with good equipments vs good player with good equipments. Im more disgusted with players wanting to lot everything because they think they are lisenced compare to other players who are not near 66

ranger, auto attack? god i wish

JA's vs casts arent exactly the same, drg doesnt really count, they can use any spell to achieve what theyre after, but saying 3e is the same as utsusemi...

tons on rag too, and maybe about 4-5 good ones out of 50+ D:

people still pay gil for lower damage? either way, I don't see how having to hit a macro everytime you want to attack as "being different"

one is instant the others have a delay from when you hit the macro until it takes effect: there is no other difference: they're both used by a macro and they're both used to save yourself from damage.

lower damage? what rock do you live under, kc/yoichi rapes face ill have you know, i haven't been beaten in a meripo for 2 years, and i don't even have great melee gear... and "hitting a macro everytme you want to attack" is ALOT different, HELLO HASTE? why do u think its considered so godly versus many other melee stats bonuses, if melees had to hit a button for each attack most haste would be lost. also prsesing a macro to do your damage is gunna mean playstyle means alot, just cause you play with shitty rangers doesn't mean ranger is shitty, i can almost parse on top of any event sans things where ranged damage is moot(and sometimes even on things where piercing is resisted)

get back to me with those drg and sam's tanking tiamat(millions of others just using for example), its all the same man, they can tank is just as good as any utsu tank no? white seigan/3e is hax, it cannot be relied upon 100%

but if you think theirs no difference, then blm is the same as any melee, they do damage, pressing buttons > damage

    Way i've always observed things is. . . .
Rangers tend to parse top on anything that requires fighting one mob (3 Kings, 3 TOAU Kings, Sandworm fights, Odin, Ixion)

Blus, Mnks, Wars, Sams, and EXCEPTIONAL ninjas tend to parse top on anything thats weak enough to constantly disengage and rengage (nyzul isle, merits, Tier 1-3 of einherjar)

Drks tend to parse top for anything thats zergable and not souleater resistant (Bahamut v2 BC)

Certain BCs require different stuff so certain bcs vary alot.

As for where DRG's and PUP goes I'm not really sure because no one lets either go to events.
DRG is killer for nyzul isle and PUP would probably be good with their new WS and full usukane and ninurta sash maybe even better than monk? But that's pretty wishful thinking

as a current Maat's cap owner, I played my 1st 4-5 years looking up to Maat Cap owners, and generally viewing it as something semi unattainable/undesirable cuz I felt it would mean I had played too much

then I was 120 levels away without really trying, so I went for it

it was when I was getting closer that I ran into an owner or 2 that people didn't have good things to say about, and I first heard this idea that Maat's Cap owners suck at most of their jobs and have lol gear

personally I was surprised, given my slow but steady and nearly accidental earning of the cap, over the years I collected various All Jobs items which make at least 3-6 jobs better, and my preference to wait for specific items before continuing with a job (ie. refused to level SAM without soboro, thf is current 69 due to no sirocco)

also, I'm from an older style of XP that almost resents this TOAU expansion era of XP parties that allow sun ring warriors to get to 75 so they can wear martial axes. they're awful, they need to be denied invites because they're dead weight. I'm proud of my cap but only because I earned every one of my levels and not once was ever a dead weight in a party, gear, skill, leadership qualities in keeping people focussed an dkicking sub-par players, as well as knowing the best camps fo rcertain level ranges -- or soloing when said party setups weren't available

I've heard it all, and in fact my playtime is pretty awful, no time for planned events (thus lack of homam and afew other choice pieces) but I've had people assume I live in my parents basement, on welfare, a virgin, fat, acne you name it when I'm surprisingly the opposite

In sum, I'm disappointed that there are players that embody this sort of nq, half-ass grind-player style and annoyed that people would ever assume the same before seeing me play
