I bought that exact t.v. a couple months ago and I'm very happy with it so far. Would say that's a great buy at $398.

I say get, got mine for the same price last year (different brand tho).
Okay.. So I didn't want to start a new thread about this. Since these discussions about TV's pop up every now and then. But.. I'm basically buying something huge for my new bedroom to watch movies on/play games on. Basically, my own little theater of sorts.
Anyway. I don't watch much TV.. Lost is about it. I watch most other TV shows on my computer if anything at all. This will be for video games and movie watching basically.
I've been going back and forth between a 1080p 52" LCD TV or a Projector with a 100" Motorized drop down screen. Both have their ups and downs.. The biggest downer I'm looking at now is bulb replacements on the projector.
TV would probably one along the lines of this Samsung:
Samsung - 52" 1080p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV - LN52A580
But I've seen some cheaper alternatives I've been considering. Such as this:
Buy the Sharp 52" LCD HDTV and other LCD & Plasma TVs at circuitcity.com
or..
Projector would probably be a 720p DLP or a 1080 LCD. Something along the lines of:
Projectors - BestBuy
or
Sanyo - 1080p HD Home Theater Projector - PLV-1080HD
Screen:
Buy the Elite VMAX EZ Electric Screen and other Projector accessories at circuitcity.com
Sorry for poor organization. Just saw this thread and got in from work. A bit out of it.
Some people could argue that 1080p on a 32" is pointless, but prices the way they are now you may as well go for it.
Don't worry about plasma for a 32", I don't think you'd find any on this size and a decent brand LCD will give you better overall results anyway, unless you went 40"+ size.
smallest plasma's are 42" so yea, that's why you couldn't find any in that size. The aquos' seem to always be rated pretty good, so at that price sounds good.
Eck's the 6 or 7 series of that 52' samsung is basicaly a slightly bigger version of my 46' 's I bought, their amazing tv's. The 120 htz is amazing for blu ray movies and gaming, also has built in gameing settings for the tv.
what you guys think about these two...
Sam's Club - 42" Vizio LCD 1080p HDTV w/ 120Hz XVT
Sam's Club - 42" Philips 120Hz 1080p LCD HDTV & Blu-Ray Bundle
contrast on the vizion is 6,500:1 while philips has 29,000:1. noob question i know but oh well...just want to know which will be a best choice. philips has a bundle too but that dont really matter to me.
meh guess the technology on plasma's have improved. Think it was last year i was hearing commercials (hi2u video only) stating smallest plasma's being 42" so if you need smaller you have to go lcd.
iBomex if you've got $1000 to spend on a T.V. shop around for something a lot better than those. Look at Panasonic's LZ85 or PZ85 series. Might be slightly smaller 37-40" but they will blow those tv's away.
I bought the Panasonic 50 inch PZ85U and it is absolutely ridiculous. Paid $1600 on Amazon and the only problem is I watch way too much TV. So the PZ85 series is definitely clutch.
