Many of those games are great, i should add:

    Spawn:In the demon's hand
    Street fighter 3rd strike
    Maken X
Gundam Side Story 0079:Rise from the ashes
    Jojo's Bizarre Adventure

An important note on this game: it received terrible reviews, but can actually be a fantastic, "turn your brain off"-type shooter. It's hard and fast, and it's best enjoyed with friends. Kind of like orgies, although orgies are better.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for sure. Quite possibly the best DC game ever.

Outtrigger is one that hasn't been mentioned in this thread yet. It was great for online and the single player is decent as well.

If you like sports, I would definitely pick up NFL and NHL 2K series.

And yeah, like people said, Jet Grind Radio and Shenmue 1 and 2.

So far from all the gundam games this one the best.

    @Kohan:
Never knew the game got terrible reviews, but this game is extremely fun with 4 ppl.

Rival Schools was the shit, I think I played it on a different system though, maybe PS2 because I don't recall my friend who owned it at the time having a Dreamcast. I always picked that Tiffany chick and the biker jacket chick who shot the balls of fire. Fuck gotta watch youtube now to douse myself in nostalgia.

I also remember the versus mode in Sonic Adventure, I could beat anyone as Amy, she was OP.

Anyone ever try Love Hina for the DC? I'm downloading it now @ 67%. I've read good reviews about it on a few different review sites.

    Maken X was pretty good.

I liked Blue Stinger a lot as well, and of course Power Stone 1 and 2.

Skies of Arcadia is my favorite game on the system, and one of the best RPGs of all time IMO.

I had some other game called Draconus: Cult of the Wyrm (spelled wrong, maybe) that was an action-rpg that was alright.

Rez was originally on Dreamcast, wasn't it?

Everything I was gonna mention has already been suggested, that one is definitely worth a shot if you haven't played it elsewhere.

Have you played "Panzer Dragoon Saga"? If you adored Skies so much, I hope you have. If you haven't, you really should.

And yes, "Rez" is a fantastic suggestion.

Wow, I can't believe I forgot Skies in my first post, that was probably my favourite game on the system too. Never had a Saturn but I've heard lots of good things about Panzer Dragoon Saga, I'll look into downloading it later (assuming it's possible to emulate the Saturn).

Yeah, you can emulate the Saturn. Modern dual- and quad-core PCs don't have a problem with it. In fact, since I'm glad someone wants to do this, I'll zip and upload my emulator (which has the regional BIOS files and such). It also has my personal settings, which were made according to this guide:

    SSF Saturn Emulator Compatibility

You'll need to go in and change the BIOS file location, but I think everything else will stay intact and you should be ready to start running things.

Here's my RAR file: Download links - Sharebee.com, the one and only online file hosting distribution service.

In case you have any problems, there is a slightly newer version of SSF here (it's the creator's page): SSF

Anyway, the reason you need to play PDS if you've played Arcadia is because of who developed it. The remnants of Team Andromeda, who created PDS, are largely responsible for what Arcadia became. Specifically, the ship battle system in Arcadia is derived from what every single battle is like in PDS, except they're far more interactive. Considering that Arcadia's on-foot fights were its least impressive, that should already entice you.

It also has one of the best freaking RPG songs of all time in it. I will never get sick of this track: http://sharebee.com/d9057f44

It's definitely not light and fluffy like Arcadia -- not at all -- and that's another attractive feature. You don't usually find RPGs with settings like this if they're not of Western origin. Anyway, I'm going to stop geeking out about it, I don't want to hype it up too much and over-inflate your anticipation. But definitely try it.

Finally started playing after the huge intro and the battle system is really fun and it seems like it's going to be challenging already just judging from the random battles. Loved the Skies aerial battle system but the whole real time thing makes this one much more hectic and satisfying. Controls outside of battle seem a little awkward (well, the camera not pointing where I want it to be pointing unless I'm at a specific height) but that doesn't really effect what matters all too much. How long is it (and how long-ish is each disc)? I have a bad habit of starting games and then completely forgetting about shortly after starting, so I don't want to download more of the massive discs until I'll need them.

PDS isn't as long as most big name RPGs, clocking in at around 15-25 hours. As far as I remember -- it's been about a year since I played it last -- the amount of play time is fairly well-spread across the discs. So, if you're taking your time, you'll probably play for anywhere from three to six hours before it's time for disc two. It really varies from person to person. If you take it plenty slow, you might stretch it so you're closer to the 25 hour total mark, but if you fly through it, you may only spend a couple hours on each disc.

The small amount of gameplay per disc is due to PDS having such a large amount of voice acting, and all of its major cutscenes being CG, which was pretty exceptional in its day. To note, although the majority of it is in Japanese, they also invented a language for the PD series (the ending song linked to above consists of this make-believe language only), so you'll hear odd terms in there as well.

So in terms of space, it might be a bit of a pain in the butt because you may want to have all the discs ready, but if you think you won't have a lot of time to sink into it, you can download them later.

I'm glad you got it running and I really hope you enjoy the whole of it.

I'm kind of surprised no one has mentioned Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves.

Mark of the Wolves was awesome but it's kinda outdated.
Just like Samurai Showdown was great back in the day, but I wouldn't play it now. Same thing with SFII (even though a lot of people still play it).
So I guess it's just preference.

I don't remember the name of it, but there was also a kick ass nintendo emulator for the dreamcast, and possibly a snes emulator as well. God damn i loved how that system could fucking play anything with no modding.

NesterDC, also many other emulators out that can be easily burned with a simple bootdisk to achieve the same thing.

My favourite fighting games were: Samurai Showdown, Fatal Fury, and King of Fighters. That being said, I tried them not long ago and they have aged terribly. I didn't have much fun anymore. ;x
