The theory behind that technology is very intriguing. The question I have for them would be:

• Would the subconscious mind emit the same brain signals as a conscious mind?

I don't think the technology will go very far since even dreams aren't very detailed. You can probably imagine a body figure, the color and depth, but that's about it.

actually my dreams are pretty damn realistic. they're odd to explain, i have full senses in them and they feel like i'm awake, my brain most of the time knows i'm dreaming and i'll even say it in the dream, and i usually remember most every detail about them. Had college professors back in my freshman year of college tell me thats not normal. Supposedly scientists think people dream generally in black and white and with no sound. Not me. One of my more fucked up dreams was standing in outer space on a platform talking to god and watching the end of the world as earth went up in nice red flames. Not only could i feel the heat but i heard the voices of billions of lives being killed at once as though it was amazingly real. Woke a few mins later and couldn't stop shaking for about 3 hrs lol. shit scared the fuck outta me. i dreamt up even worse stuff though.

And yes this technology sounds just like paprika. lets just hope it don't cause a parade of things outta a nightmare walking down the streets destroying things lol.

haha mine are more like personally frightening. My most recent nightmare consisted of me flying a plane over some mountains when I was suddenly shot down but I was able to bail out before my plane hit a mountain. I lived, and had to climb down a mountain, I fell, lived again somehow but I was at the bottom of the mountain. Now there was nothing at the bottom of the mountain but a beach and the ocean, so I start swimming for some reason and wouldn't you know it, I'm in a lake near my home, but I'm really tired at this point and I cling to a rock to recover, boats pass by me even thought I'm calling for help. Eventually I start swimming again and make it to the shore, head over to my house and my entire family is there surprised to see me alive. It seems my brother and next-door neighbors were the ones who shot me down. I get mad at my brother and beat him over the head until he's out cold and has brain damage (later in the dream I'm very remorseful about this). Then I head over to my neighbors house and they start shooting at me. There's an excruciatingly scary firefight until I wake up shuddering.

It took me a while to figure out it was all a dream, as they're so realistic to me, even though they're completely crazy.

I have honestly thought of this, but it always comes in good and bad endings. Good endings because I write quite a bit and my dreams always have interesting things. On the other hands, I REALLY wouldn't want ANY body to know what the other half of my dreams are. Quite disturbing shit into the human psyche that would probably end up getting me arrested.

I dunno if I'd be down for letting people watch my dreams, that's way too personal. That, and I've dreamt some fucked up things that I think I'd be a better person if I didn't remember them.

Was just watching the Science channel, and they had a device hooked up to a mouse's brain that allowed it's movements to be controlled. It was pretty cool. Only downside was that it didn't directly control it's muscle movements, but rather fucked with it's senses to make it act on false perception, but it still worked to make it move around exactly as controlled from the guy sending the signals at the computer.

Hopefully someday that can be improved too, or maybe even allow us to directly control muscle movement rather than merely implant false perceptions to influence action. Could help paralyzed, or otherwise impaired people, someday.
