In honesty, some magi are alot better at managing their MP than others. And some of them can squeeze out quite a few more MP from each convert.

I've been in parties as MNK/NIN, holding hate 60-70% of the time over a WAR/SAM, taking very minimal damage, and still the RDM runs out of MP. And I've been in parties as SAM/WAR with another SAM/WAR and a DRG/SAM (all 3 penta-spamming) on lolibri where we all used hasso full time until MP was short. The RDM did phenomenally, we used seigan for Wivres and short 60-90s patches from time to time when damage outpaced MP.

This extends to the non-pulling support as well. BRD/WHM or COR/WHM can help ease the burden of the RDM by alot. And a smart RDM, if he sees the bard burning MP on curagas, regens, and Dia2, will keep his bard refreshed.

tl;dr Don't expect too much from /sea all inv rdm 75.

I don't know how "anticipate attacks" works with seigan/3eye. Is there some methodology of why it can last 3+ times while other times its 1 and done?

I find one of the biggest reasons is that no one uses seigan/3eye. Only the really good ones actually use seigan/3eye the rest pretty much are mp sponges. From a mage's point of view in a picup PT, why should the mage put up with MP sponges? So in general its more of a broad categorical effect of 75% of the population not doing something that hurts the other 25%.

In my opinion, knowing the safety of having 3 blinks vs at least 1 anticipate... mages would probably choose the former.

Another issue is that some PTs aren't always as great as 3dd, rdm, cor brd PT. Sometimes its 5dd+mage. or drgx2 main healers... or pupx2 main healers... or even /dnc main heal. so /sam would never work in odd pickup pts.

are the healers there to heal people or just be semi-afk and leech merits?
I'm there to haste and stop the "oh shi-" moments, not endlessly throw out cures.

do melees think that casting cures for healers is as fun as spaming WS macro or some shit? cause it sure as fuck isn't.

Meriting on a melee isn't really fun either, so I like it to be as fast and rewarding as possible, which means you're there to pump MP at me so I can turn it into damage, to turn moving things into dead things, and rack up merits.

You wanna semi-afk and jerk off and get bleh exp/hour, go Campaign.

When I feel like meriting, I wanna do it on a slow time of day, go into a nice clear camp, zerg the fucking hell out of things for an hour or two, and leave with 5 or 6 merits.

I've had a few healers that ask a dd to go /nin and if they didn't would kick them. They were the boss because a /sea all inv 75 showed only melee's seeking.
At birds at least I fall asleep on WHM no matter what the DD's are subbing. I think the problem is that people can't figure out that casting Haste and Dia II first means that you do much less curing over all.

On Mamools and Skoffins though... that changes a bit. LOL

I get hesitant when I see melee not subbing nin because far too many of them are retards who heard /sam is awesome and full time hasso on skoffins or whatever. Birds, puks, mire, do whatever you like. But ugh when I see rushing drub/fang rush/etc. for 1k+ and know they could have prevented it if they bothered to seigan+TE when they pull hate, I want to leave.

I wanna know how that war was managing 87% acc with a dagger. Ive never tried my pharpe as war but I cant imagine it would be that great.

I beg the differ, but I also have mage jobs unlike you, and I've earned well over 75% of my merits playing a mage vs 25% on my melee jobs.

nothing is more disheartening then playing a mage, babysitting melees that you could blow away, if you could have gone on your melee job.

If/when I'm in a 25k+ an hour party it's a higher amount of fun on both jobs (mage or melee) but I've defiantly had alot more fun doing it on my thf and nin then my rdm (have yet to get one of those PTs on my drg just yet)

It's not fun because I'm doing more than just auto-attacking and WSing, juggle timers, line up things for the rest of the party, keep an eye out for SC chances on the fly, voke slept mobs, balance Hasso and Seigan use, hell, just juggling dusk gear between mobs.

I don't like to just sit and pick my nose when I merit, I actually like to try and maximize my output, it's more like work than fun. Fun is being a retard in dyna, seeing who can die more, kiting a ton of shit around Nyzul cause of dorks getting aggro, or beating up and tanking something besides penisbirds or lizardmen... though Mamool camp is more fun.

At least Skoffins actually try to kill you, can't say the same for birdies.

I must be completely the opposite of you. I find it very fun to squeeze every bit of efficiency possible on mage and melee jobs, and I find it extremely annoying and childish to waste time trying "being a retard in dyna, seeing who can die more". It's like the difference between hearing a well executed orchestra, and listening to an average three year old's violin recital, screechy strings and all.

    Edit:
I just don't like wasting time. If we're talking waiting in Aery because my LS won /random for a Nid, I agree it is fun to mess around playing Extreme Breath Challenge, but losing out on AF/Coins/Other stuff just dicking around really annoys me.

    This!

On my mnk, I always try to have how much eva the mob has and gear accordingly. If its G colibri and I'm base, I go full acc gear, but If we happen to get madrigal, I have a diff set of gear for that. If its march/min I have a build for that on mnk as well, which changes while focus is up. I also have 2 pallets for my merit mnk, which have 4-5 WS builds each (each with a varying amount of acc, based on how much I need). I'll use minuet when focus is down and swap between merman's and fenrir's based on day/night when focus is up. If I'm at 89 tp (I get here a lot on mnk) I'll swap from tor/tor to tor/rajas to get 11 tp instead of 10 in my next melee round. I love every fraction of a percent I can gain parsewise. Competition makes it more fun.

I have capped GA. I used to eat meat all the time. I don't know what happened but my accuracy using meat somehow has gotten fairly shitty after the last big update. I can't really figure out why. I'll be whiffing salvage chariots 8x in a row, getting 1-3TP return RRs more often. Of course that's usually when aggressor is down, but it's really pissed me off. So I've stuck with sushi atm, because nothing pisses me off more than 8 whiffs in a row when I'm supposed to be co-tanking against an apoc. Makes it hard to catch back up.

I have plenty of accuracy in both TP and WS setups... not sure wtf happened. I need to go back to the same camp and eat some subs and compare parses.

Not sure if it's a salvage thing or what because I don't merit a whole lot really.

i'll list his TP gear off the top of my head:

    p.harpe, BD, bomblet
    askar, love, brutal, suppa
    e.body, dusk, rajas, ultha
    cerb, swift, byakko, aurum

    8/8 dagger merits.

he spams meat. we always do marchx2 + cor/hunter's.

That is only 350~355 acc total prior to Hunter's Roll, without a RNG party a weighted average acc from Hunter's Roll is around +20 unless I am mistaken.

So lets say 370~375 acc total plus Aggressor, 87% overall acc seems feasible within those parameters.

(i think those figures are still accurate)

hunter's, without a ranger, is 30 acc. i also use relic hat, which boosts that avg acc a bit higher.
