My 3v3 is working pretty well, started 20-4 last night. PMR we had issues with though (3 of 4 losses coming from one PMR team), 2 losses coming from my teammates getting double poly'd from mirror images. Mages and rogues seem to be the most OP right now vs our setup, both having a lot of damage potential along with a lot of control options. We haven't found any decent triple DPS teams yet (no ret/rogue/DK/mage combos) so those might be difficult as well, though i think ret should be ok after resil and the divine shield changes.
Now that i think about it, the broken Spirit of Redemption glyph might be why we have so much trouble, because focusing the priest is basically worthless. Focusing the rogue is troublesome because of their escape CDs, and focusing the mage is tough because of iceblock and them spam slow/nova. In BC focusing the priest usually gave us an easy win if we could survive for first 30 secs-minute of the fight.
Paladin (Holy)/Warrior (Arms)/Feral, same team that we nearly got glad with in S3.
Yeah I wouldn't be surprised at the burst you get with that team.
My 3v3 is Resto Shaman/Demo Lock/Feral Druid and usually that team is almost impossible to beat unless we get good CC very early into the match.
Ishido I just thought of something, have you tried splitting your dps?
Feral druids are a huge pita for mages to deal with, and wars still make life incredibly tough for rogues.
You may be able to send the druid after the mage, have the war sit on the rogue, and then it's just an issue of your dps not letting their dps help each other much, while you're focused on keeping the CC off, and essentially just sitting, waiting for a mistake.
If they get ballsy and try to come after you, there's no way they'll be able to cc either dps while chasing you and getting beat on by almost-counter-classes, and if your dps are left open they're going to hurt them pretty bad.
Not really, we've only played 20 games or so, and haven't really worked much on strategies. I've been gone for a week so we haven't had a ton of chances to arena much.
We'll probably try that if we have more problems with the combo, thanks for the advice.
I've been doing rogue ret arms, and I disagree somewhat with some of this.
Rogues eat warriors up, it's one of my favorite things to go for. If a war came at me and didnt get bladestorm off fast enough (which he wouldn't) he'd pretty much die instantly, especially if the dps is split up because if they have a healer he wont know who to heal. On my team, we'd probably go for the priest... the rogue on that team is going to try to get a disarm off and probably try to eat the feral, my team because triple dps because of teams like this and it makes it 100% more fun even if we lose.
What people are going to figure out against ishida, is that the druid can always be found by a rogue (and every 3's team until like 1600 or 1700 has a rogue or 2 pallies almost it seems) and that it's alot easier to scare the pally by bursting him and forcing a bubble, then turning to the closest person and bursting him, then going back to pally whenever you feel like. We were running Holypal, arms, rogue, but it seems we just rape and have no trouble with the paladin ret instead since every team did this to us and ended up getting an easy kill out of it.
BTW, triple mage is a joke, that shit shouldnt be allowed.
Rogues will eat a warrior with CDs, after vanish/stuns are blown 2 second overpowers will be very painful if they try to 1v1. Burst should be able to be very limited by having slows on both of their DPS (and cycling maim and cyclone on the mage if we really want to take them out of the match), and freedom available to the pally.
Me being found out if stealth is a non issue almost 100% of the time because on Nagrand, Ruins and Blade's Edge, if the rogue opens away from his team he will almost certainly die. If he gets me out of stealth as we are advancing, (very unlikely at sprint speed in stealth) then yes, it puts us at a slight disadvantage.
Also killing priests right now is a huge crapshoot due to SoR. If they are holy they can easily get a minute+ of free healing if their teammates play it decently. We've been able to do that very easily but it accomplishes very little if the rogue and mage are able to kill someone in the same time span.
Triple mage is very similar to any triple DPS with the benefit of iceblock and counterspell.
I'm going to start a 2v2 arena team with my druid friend. I know Feral Druid/BM hunter isn't a great combination but does anyone have any idea how we should go about this? We are both pretty much arena noobs.
