Iphone and other Smartphones

i'm in the market for an inexpensive cell that won't have a high monthly bill that i can use basically just for texting and the occasional call, perhaps also with some form of instant messenger. any recommendations? makes, models, networks etc. i've never owned a cellphone and don't really know much about them or what to look for. (figured this would be as good a place as any to post this even though i probably couldn't afford a smartphone)

Probably best for you to go with a pre-paid phone. A basic monthly plan on pretty much any carrier is probably gonna run you $40 a month and that doesn't include text messages.

I got pokemon and other gba games working, took me a while to find the right gba bin is all.

Maybe I'll do SNES later, this is a blast.

I got emerald working on my iPhone, but the emulators need a bit of work before it's really playable. Too laggy for my tastes. I have an R4 so I'd rather play them on my DS. Cool concept though, love to see the final version of gpSPhone.

Ya, the NES emulator has been updated twice and its not too bad depending on the game.

gpSPhone has yet to be updated I believe, and has it's issues.
