At the very least it implies that they've had a homosexual thought, and again if I'm not mistaken, the Catholic church, as do the rest of the western religions, that I'm aware of, believe that impure acts and impure thoughts are one in the same. If you thought it, then you may as well have done it. Which means that the simple concept of being a homosexual would make you a sinner in the eyes of the catholic church, and the pope here is just sugar-coating the issue, trying to sound political and forgiving about the idea, when really hes just as immovable about the topic as the rest of his followers.

Huzzah, ignorance of science once again triumphs over logic.

There's ample evidence to suggest that overpopulated ecosystems see greater instances of homosexuality in their population, in which case homosexuality may in fact be saving the planet.

What about people with genetically inherited depression? People with recessive genes for sickle cell anemia? Are they sinning if they reproduce, knowing that they have a sickness? This doesn't sound like much of a just, compassionate God by your logic.

I also like how you single out men, as if lesbians don't exist. I think you're betraying your own cultured bias.

Because:

A: All men suddenly deciding that they will not sleep with women is highly unlikely.

B: Even if all men suddenly decided to do things with men only for pleasure, they can still have sex with women to impregnate them. Nothing about liking men makes you sterile.

C: A woman doesn't need a man to get pregnant, at least, she doesn't need one to impregnate her himself, and men can always just get surrogate mothers if they don't want to be with women.
