with aftermath the way it is, these weapons seem more tactical in basic usage... instead of "oh, I just got 100 TP. I'm gonna blow shit up."

It would have been nice if the 300 TP mark was all inclusive for the bonuses, at the very least. Still, most of these weapons are still phenomenal. (Tizona, Death Penalty, etc.)

Meant really a translation of "oh you thought I meant this, well we actually meant this". Since the entire player base read the description as getting all 3 at once, which added a significant value to their worth.

Your logic barely works, I hardly think Atonement spam will overcome the stats on that weapon.

Actually, think about it. Being able to spam Atonement faster with a joytoy will over time help you cap out hate far faster than a simple +10 enmity bonus. The enmity reduction from physical damage becomes rather moot while tanking PLD/NIN, as well as the physical damage reduction.

Sure you will take likely take some damage shadow tanking, but only having 10% knocked off seems hardly worth not being able to spam Atonement faster with a joytoy.

Also, the main point of the disappointment comes from the fact it will take such a long time and most likely a large gil investment to get a Burtgang. Seeing as there is a far cheaper, and much less time involved option in a Joytoy that can even come close to rivaling Burtgang performance is just plain wrong. Being able to make a case that you can outperform it for tanking purposes is just flat out unbelievable.

I dont get why ppl have so damn high expectations. if you aim alittle lower you all ppl, you will be more happy, with everything.

YOUR logic fails. If you dont see the loss in emnity from atonement spam (which is fucking amazing) from switching from a 50% DA joytoy to a high delay weapon with a bit of acc, then you are blind. Pld/nin will see virtually no use out of the emnity loss during physical damage taken, and pld/war would still spam more atonement via joytoy.

I didnt want 100 acc 100 attack and 100% DA on aftermath, but fuck me dont laugh in our faces and play a translation error that is the difference between making these weapons utter shit and amazing.

Personally I would still go for this weapon. The only thing that would change my mind over it would be if the testing on the gear based enmity cap turn out to be 50. If gear based enmity caps at 50, then the sword is pretty pointless. Otherwise, it's still one of the best swords in the game for high end content. But that's just my humble opinion.

Actually, his bst is 75 but he did it all in campaign so I'm sure his axe skill is pretty far from capped.

IF there is an gear enmity cap. Otherwise +10 enmity is something I would say is worth the upgrade. Might not be as useful as a joytoy on some stuff, but on low man events when you don't want to engage the mob to feed it TP, it would be a very nice upgrade. If I can't spam WS on the mob to hold hate, then the next best thing is this sword. Again, assuming there isn't an enmity cap from gear.

Uh, that is kind of the point. Shouldn't I, you know, actually want to go after a Mythic? Shouldn't I expect SE to give a worthwhile reward for all the work they request from us?

I haven't started to try to upgrade in earnest, so I am fine, but what about everyone else that has been upgrading in hopes of being able to unlock an amazing weapon? You can't debate that this is a solid dick-punch in that case.
