I have long since lost count, but I also haven't seen Fast Cast+2 either. I've probably done about 25-30 runs as Spellsinger, and 15-20 as Barrager.
So do you alternate based on which boss you get, or can Barrager take down pretty much any boss without issues? Do you buy a bunch of extra Gobbie Surprises for him before going in?
Barrager can take out any boss easily. I don't buy extra gobbie surprises. You'll get 6 from R1, and there's a box with 12 in R3. 18 is more than enough Bomb Tosses to take out any boss.
Any job can take out any boss if leveled to 60 with final weapon upgrade, and 3/3 on the fetch-quest (left path).
I've seen some complaints about Spellslinger versus the weapons but he does fine if he is totally maxed out.
Of course for most matchups you don't really need to reach 60. I'm just saying that if you have the runes to do it (17, 18, and 108 help a ton), you can win even the "tough" matchup of spellslinger vs weapons.
Oh yeah, I do just that and my Spellslinger easily handles the weapons every time. I was just slightly concerned about Barrager having enough Surprises left, since the one time I used that form while leveling instead of Walloper, he seemed to toss bombs left and right.
Realistically, 6 tosses will clear the 3-wave weapons more often than not. If you are concerned about not having enough surprises, then just level him on walloper and swap to Barrager on your way to the boss.
I'm just randomly wondering what the maximum title is for the people who like to post in this thread.
I've been able to purchase "Maze Scholar" forever, but even after month after month after month of MMM, I cannot get the "Maze Artisan" title.
I'm curious who has Artisan and if there are even any Overlords.
I haven't been able to get anything higher than Scholar either. I haven't purchased either Navigator or Scholar, but I keep Maze Wanderer as my title virtually all the time just because I like it.
I tried Demons + Birds for Voucher 01. No Gargoyles (sp) from 4 runs.... not a terribly large sample size... but none so far. i'll leave demons + birds in for the time being...
Interesting notes though:...
Hippogryphs are considered "large" mobs, like perytons or cockatrice. They did not follow the "small mob" pattern on the first set; no hypogryphs spawned in the hallway leading up to the 2nd map, and there wasn't a hypo spawn where the chest spawns for defeating the first set either; there are fewer of them. Also.. AOE dispel is quite annoying, and they have a strange triple attack pattern which can kill a tank if they're caught with shadows; be very sure to dispel boost.
Floating Eyes though follow a "small mobs" spawn pattern; so there's more of them. They are quite squishy, and L5 Petrify has a very short duration. I'm not sure if they can be silenced or not.
And frankly, i'd take Tauri over Perytons!
I'm thinking birds + demons is the way to go.
Got a Heron Ring off of CC chest from V08.
I was soloing, so i used Paeon and Weakness, LnF, and Conditioning contract, as well as goldagrik's generousity.
Wow! That's amazing. I too have been trying LnF (rune 94) with Conditioning (rune 108 ) in V08 to see how to make it work. It sucks because I can't fit rune 85 Fisherman with those 2. I do maze everyday so I never thought about the CC chest. Personally I never knew anything other than runes could be in it :O
If CC chest having ring is old news...then what does Conditioning Contract do ><
Has anyone figured out the pattern for marble returns on V08 yet?
So far my observations (over 70 runs) are for "bonus" marbles Mithra gives +0, Taru gives +5, and Elvaan gives +10. What I mean is, exact same maze layout but Mithra gives 18 marbles, then Taru/Elvaan would give 23/28. Does this hint that Mithra gives best item rewards for sacrificing marbles? True by my theory, I've only ever personally seen elvaan drop 1 item(s).
Now for the varying end marble reward. I notice if we finish super fast, we get 10~12 marbles, or super slow. But a normal finish gives 18~22. It's really hard to judge how to better your marble rewards when you're maze layout is perfect, and you finish fast, and get 15 marbles, then a bad run you end up with 28 marbles.
You may disregard my speculation about Mithra giving better (item) rewards since I can't back it up (Elvaan for sure gives best marble reward though). But after I found that Elvaan gave 28 marbles per run at least, and half a stack of moats, we spammed him for nearly a week...and only got 1 item (was a clothier rune) so we went back to Mithra/Taru.
tsaroth are you using Trial By Velocity? If you have that rune in, you need to throw away all of your marble data and start over without it.
Or better yet, just throw out all the marble data for every run where you don't know the exact runes that were used. Run it without any runes to get the base value. Then run it with single runes to compare how each rune individually alters the marble total. It's tedious, but it's really the only way to nail it down.
No, in fact you can't even use Velocity in V08. And yes my mazes are the same, using duped for mules
Edit: /slap-self, I think the reason why my mazes are getting different marble rewards may be because the Elvaan teams' points always varies, perhaps the more points they accumulate you'll get less marbles?
Hi all,
Sorry for the noob question, but as new in MMM, is there any way to start farming for Marbles? We are obtaining 8 Marbles/run so far now. I bought the 101 rune which is giving 9 Marbles/run now. Do I need to get a Tabula/Vouncher/runes to optimize the Marbles obtained? Which ones?
Again sorry for the newby question and for my lolenglish. Thanks in advance!
Go to Duplidoc and pick up a V05 or V06 from him. V06 is better marbles overall, and will be pretty easy since it sounds like you're running in a group instead of solo. I don't run V06 much, so light the Gergall symbol and he'll give you the rundown of what runes you're looking for on a Duplidoc maze.
If you go the V05 route, you want to buy a maze with at least runes 17, 18, and 102 on it. Try to avoid anything with runes in the 115 range, and you should be fine.
