Concerning the conditioning rune, 108. I'm not sure anyone's noticed, but monsters you kill in V01 runs don't give full XP. An EM that I killed solo gave me 55xp. I didn't check many others, but I've gotten anywhere from 50-88 XP for DC-T kills in there, when I solo as BST63/WHM30.
My theory on the XP out of th Hoardbox is that maybe it "stores" a percentage of your XP, and places it in the Hoardbox as "ransom" so to speak, only to be received if you complete the Maze.
Maybe rune 108 is meant to make the maze XP friendly, by doubling XP received? anyone check how much XP is received from monsters in a V01 maze, with 108 active?
I stand corrected about the armor, JP Wiki shows Mamool Ja Earring dropping from these three setups:
Bold = Rune Aligned to proper element
Lizard NM Tanihwa
M03 Great Warrior, Stillness, Supreme Might, Might, Elemental Magic, Lost & Found
M03 Great Warrior, Stillness, Supreme Might, Might, Enhancing Magic, Accuracy, Lost & Found
M02 Great Warrior, Motion, Supreme Might, Might, Enhancing Magic, Dark Magic, Lost & Found, Title: Maze Scholar
Even though these do drop from NM runs, it still isn't entirely impossible for them to drop from crafting runs. Just not enough people doing Materialization Team to confirm or deny.
Max said you used 13, 16, 17, 17, 42, 44, wind on wind. Assuming 2nd 17 should be 18 and you confirmed rune 23 on wind spot. So 13, 16, 17, 18, 23, 42, and 44 used on M02 was maze set up for Koggel drop?
I mentioned before that I didn't see LnF (94) listed. Is that correct? If so, that's the first I've read of a weapon drop with out it.
Also noticed no mob type rune listed. Was the NM an elemental?
Sorry to keep asking, but just want to make sure we get the information correct.
Random question in regards to MMM.
I've been farming runes to get a Koggelmander. I've bought Tabula 03... my question is, is there any reason to keep Tabula 01 now that I've got 03? Inventory-2 is annoying for someone who is lazy about muling gear. >_<
I keep the m01 around so I can always have a full 46 marble maze farm on myself. If you don't want to keep the m01 just throw it way. You can always get another from Chatnachoq for 100gil or 1 marble anyways.
For 46 marbles what do you take out? Mob family? Stick in Might in its place?
I just realized that I've been at 45, and that 1 more was possible. D'oh!
Full farming run is Might, Supreme Might, Trials by Budget, Numbers, Velocity, Amnesiac's, and Silence. I'm currently on working on getting this setup on all of my 28 mules (14 on each account), but so far only have 5 of them completed. Almost all of my mules have Budget now (what anyone should start with since it takes it from 15 to 22) and am working on more.
got rune 040 today, "Altered Defense", did boss with it run after to test it quick didn't seem to raise, or lower it's defense at all, or anything, any clue what it's suppose to do?
Got a Zonure today with my setup that got Kogglemonger last time. >_>; Is that normal?
We gave these a shot again tonight. We did 3 runs of #1 and 1 run of #2. Two runs were no drop at all. One run was a Carpenter Rune drop. Our fourth and final run dropped BLM and WAR runes (oddly enough the person who traded has only both of those jobs at 75, however look at our MNK rune drop with no MNKs the other day too). Meh, more testing is needed.
RE: m01 tabula
It actually has 1 more rune-able spot than m02 or m03. Additionally, the arrangement of holes is slightly more amenable to placement of the various rune shapes.
0/9 on Koog, got Thief Rune (Maze Rune 056)
hello
did maze run today - Maze Voucher 01 - used M03 tabula with runes: Lizard, Great Warrior (on earth slot) Supreme Might, Might, Water (on water slot) and Lost and Found - got 16 marbles and Alchemist and Red Mage runes
I never really paid attention to XP in mazes before, but noticed a few things tonight. Normally I do several mazes a day with my mules so there is no xp, but decided to solo my own maze today b/c one shotting mobs just gets boring after a while.
Switched over to Bst and used Aquan rune (01) so I'd get all charmable mobs. Also used Great Warrior b/c sea monks make great pets and added Lost and Found for chance at better rune drop.
Go in grab 1st mob and start killing. As usual I'm not paying attention to XP until something strange caught my eye. I see "EXP chain #1 Mellema gains 81 experience points." I'm thinking WTF, you can't get chains on DC mobs. Then I think I must have charmed a tough mob and was getting an xp penalty, but I checked my pet and it conned EM.
At this point I check my log and realize most mobs are giving me 50xp and a couple gave 88. From this I theorize that when you kill a mob they give you half the xp and the other half gets added to the hoard chest and is granted if you clear the maze.
Great theory until I start checking the rest of the mobs before I kill them and see that while I get 50 for an EM kill, I also get 50 for a DC kill. So with no level modifying rune (peon, super might etc), perhaps you get half xp, but at least 50, per kill, and then the excess is granted from winning.
I was hoping to see if the XP granted from hoard box was equal to the xp of all the kills, but unfortunately I didn't have enough chat filters set and when I checked log after exiting I was missing the first 2 or 3 kills in log.
On another note, since getting Lost and Found and using it with voucher 1, I am 3/3 for Job class rune drops.
So what jobs have anyone used to solo a Maze and what was your setup? Thinking Bstmaster would be easiest and could handle messy links or summoner but time might be an issue.....
lol I actually mentioned that close to the top of the page. I didn't notice though that even DC gave 50 xp, thats a good observation. I keep meaning to do more testing.
To the question about soloing, I've soloed quite a few mazes ... made a post about it here: Allakhazam.com: Final Fantasy XI: Beastmaster. I think BST is the easiest to solo mazes, using Aquan rune and maybe Vermin (didn't try that yet). Others may be able to, assuming that they use mob family rune to control monster types. BST I think excel because every battle they are actually killing two monsters at once.
I'm curious if rune 108 affects per-monster XP at all ... have to wait to try until I have one.
