We got a Koggel and an Earring off the same duped maze, and another earring off a different duped maze, so I dont think the maze dupes affect drop rate.

However we've been all using a copy of my Nimble Nelson maze (so 6 bunnies on MMM night) and havent seen a single torque yet, its been like 2 or 3 weeks too. We keep getting shitty runes from the CC box that we already have so they get tossed =/ I have the right setup, just missing a job rune on my board, but massive bad luck on drop rate or something. Gets dissapointing to do 6 runs with no accessory drops.

I decided to try a solo run for the first time ever. Level 25 BST.

Used 001 (Aquan) to ensure all mobs would be charmable.
Used 020 (Peon) to make the mobs lower level. This probably isn't necessary.
    Used 094 (L+F) of course

Charmed a mob, threw it at a mob, waited for one to die, repeat.

    http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i2...l/rune108s.jpg

Conclusion: Very small sample set (1/1) but I am guessing that "difficulty" and "large marble rewards" are probably not a factor in getting good runes from the CC crate.

i Solo'd the majority of my to level 10 in Tabula01, its as easy as you say.

Basically make sure your fighting weak mobs, like Birds, Worms, Crabs, Pugils, Etc... something with no stupid TP moves, i.e Breath attacks or DEF/ACC down

Watch out for Wyverns... They're actually easy prey but Radiant Breath does 100DMG Minimum ....

My set up was simple enough:

    Tabula01
Beast (Aquan, Plantoid, anything like that would probably work better)
    Tiny Warrior
Conditioning Contract (I Found this to be a double edged sword, while it boosts exp from the box, it greatly lowers your chance of leveling-up mid rune, which makes the run go alot smoother if you're soloing)
    Lost and Found(Just for runes...)

Its that simple, all mobs were EM~T, And you can level up mid-rune and it makes things alot easier.

Now if your doing it for levels 1-10 you'll just need top of the line armor, and some DEF food or Run outside for FoV Signit. DEF is the key in soloing these things, cause it really works at low levels. i suggest buying HQ DEF Gear where possible, it really helps.

My normal exp with Empress Band is like 1500 exp from box, this was with my level 1 mule, i took it from 1-3(or was it 4) in a single Run with empress band, and it doesn't really get much harder as you go up, it really boils down to time and being prepared.

Also, Another thing to remember is meds, for levels 1-5 Bring about 4-5 Potions, and 2 HP Drinks (The HP Drinks are amazing here, try for one that lasts a long time over one thats very potent)

Levels 5-10 You'll want to switch to Hi-potions, and bring 4-5 of those as well, the key is to not heal alot or you could run out of time.

10-15 it gets a bit harder, bring 6-7 Hipotions, 3Regen Drinks, and some DEF food, Keep your armor updated.

15-20 Gets even harder, had difficulty on this one cause i forgot Hi-potions and had to rest ALOT. but i'd say same as Level 10-15

I haven't tried anything past that but its actually really easy to solo at those levels as long as you focus on DEF, food, armor, etc, Defense is the key in these fights because amazingly DEF actually works at low levels.

This is by no means a long term solution to partying, but if your LFG and feel like getting some quick exp at lower levels, its an easy solo if you come prepared. if your half-assing armor and junk your going to die quick, cause even 10~15 DEF Makes a huge difference.

Now, the only jobs i've tested in this though were
    WAR (to 7 on mule)
    MNK (to 17)
    DRG (to 11)
    COR (to 5)

all of which were extremely easy to solo, COR made me rage sometimes because i kept missing...

Ever since I started farming marbles/runes with 094 in place, the runes I have earned have ALWAYS been runes that require 094.

Does 094 prevent you from obtaining the "normal" hoardbox runes like 010 Demon, 017 Supreme Might, etc?

Yes, as far as I know/we've seen.

We finally got a Zaide today btw...on a duped maze. In fact, we got two Zaides, but one went to a level 6 WHM, as it was the mule's run and extra box >.>. Fortunately, we only really needed one. 0/3 on bunnies again, with 6 CC points each. More WHM runes for all!

The winning maze had plantoid, great warrior, M, SM, Divine Magic, and L&F. I think tomorrow, we might try divine on a bunny. It's pretty savage at times even with no job or magic, but it also sucks going forever with no torques at all.

Yeah, this is by far one of the worst NMs in MMM. AoE Whirl Claws for over 1,000 damage is just painful for a shout PT. Hope you have tons of BLM friends.

Worst case scenario is someone missed a Stun, the bunny's Poisonga II goes off and it Whirl Claws before ES+Sleep lands. Assuming it's a BLM type bunny lol.

why not just set rune to make it a couerl or sheep instead using tiny warrior + beast + motion or stillness?

Because I've never seen any accounts of those dropping the torque, and as bad as the drop rate is, I don't really want to be the guinea pig.

And no, we don't /shout for MMM. Urgh, I don't even want to contemplate that. I 2box BRD+SMN, and we have a RDM/NIN (tank) and BLM/NIN. That has been sufficient to kill most things, although the dhalmel can be extremely annoying without more people, so we're leaving that for last. I do know a lot of BLMs, fortunately. To be honest, I think RDM/NIN is easily the best tank for the bunny, given its TP moves.

it's possible on the base that when you do the same for lizard and koggelmander it still drops that and item from other, should be some results from not kuno, getting club, or earring, and sword with Great Warrior and Motion/Stillness, so should work.

Hm, what exactly does Motion do to the NMs? Does it only change the monster that appears?

I know Stillness + Tanihwa reverts to Nightmare Bugard TP move effects but ive heard very little regarding what Stillness does to other NMs and exactly what Motion does besides change the species that appears.

According to the wiki, beast + tiny warrior will either give you a bunny, a different bunny, or a coeurl. To get a sheep, you use neither tiny nor great warrior and put in stillness; that mob apparently drops gnole crown, not torque.

I kind of doubt that Sparky Sam's TP moves are different/better than Nimble Nelson's. I guess it's possible they could even be worse, if Sam results from Stillness being applied. The coeurl sounds at least as bad; while its AoE move might do less damage (unless the "200-300" from the wiki was with no M or SM), status effects are annoying to remove, especially petrification. All this and it "should" drop the item I want? Maybe someone else will try it.

Honestly, the most annoying mob so far is the dhalmel, and that's just due to Healing Breeze. The drop rate on this stuff is a much worse obstacle than Whirl Claws.

I gotta agree with you on the drop rates. I'm still doing these here and there with spammed copies of my Gnole Torque maze. I really don't understand why there are so much inconsistent drop rates, even with C.C.

Like one time I was gunning for a Mamool Earring maze. Did 3 of those and got a Koggelmander instead. Everyone else that was helping either shook their heads or thought I was an idiot. While there's information that that maze can drop 3 possible things, how are you suppose to explain that to people that haven't done research on MMM or just came along to help? If anyone else wants to see the set up, I can post it up, otherwise, SE's C.C. solution still isn't consistent enough to attract new players.

Ive been doing shout runs on Lakshmi based on what other people put up maze-wise and outside some bad players (idiots), most people have enjoyed the prospect of acting being able to do Maze Mongers. In that time we've tried Mamool Ja Mantle, Gnole Torque, Koggelmander, Ermine's Tail and Zaide mazes and have had reasonable success.

People tend to be stupid if they refuse to believe what you tell them and haven't done any research for themselves. In the above case id have been excited something dropped at all.

Maze Mongers will never become a mainstream event but people will always maintain some curiosity towards an aspect of the game they've never tried before and thats the best way to get some members and try something out.

I have not tried this personally, but yes, this should be correct. L&F, Tiny Warrior, and Plantoid should be the only strictly required runes.

Anyone have experience with a merit setup at lower levels? One of the members in my group was fortunate enough to get a 108 rune last set, thinking of doing xp runs with 4-6 members.

Usual setup is drg/blu(synced down), sch, dnc, whm at 60, with a brd/cor (bardcooooore) and blu at 40ish that we sync to.

The only time id suggest against putting both SM+M is on Nimble Nelson since hes such a cheap bastard with the AOEs. Any other NM (Purushamriga, Kendi, Tanihwa, Dzovits) I usually go for the M+SM combo because it doesnt really make those NMs any harder than they are with just SM on.

I got my SM rune from the lvl 1 EXP mazes without L+F.

Got 3 Gnole Torques with just SM, Warrior, L+F, Tiny Warrior, Beast.
