    Woot I got my Ermine's Tail last night, continuing to hunt MMJ earring next.

    Can you please explain what exactly crafting runes do ? i.e 086 Carpenter that I've just got.

    It can only be used in Voucher 04. It improves your results when synthing the items in that craft. Not sure if that has something to do with failure rate or "HQ" results.

    That's not it... It makes synths for that craft the objectives of the maze (as opposed to just your highest level craft), and enables the random chance to skill up that craft when synthing at the idol.

    I'd want a Gnole Torque. I've gathered the following so far:

    TabulaM02
    Voucher07
    Rune 004 Beast
    Rune 014 Tiny Warrior
    (resonating with wind)
    Rune 018 Might
    Rune 094 Lost&Found


    I've done an huge numbers of runs farming marbles and I've never seen Supreme Might drop T___T

    Also I don't have any job rune.

    As for skills, I only have Rune046 Dark Magic.

    I also can use the following:
    020 Peon
    038 Conspicuous Behavior
    039 Altered Aggression
    100, 101, 103 and 104


    Question: is there a chance I can make Nimble Nelson drop torque with these runes?

    Do you have any suggestion on what pt setup I would need to kill him?

    I suspect it's possible. We went for a long time with this:

    M02, Beast, Tiny warrior (resonated), Might, Supreme Might, Lost and Found

    and got no torques. Then we tried adding Dark Magic and Divine Magic, still nothing. Then we changed to this setup:

    M02, Beast, Tiny warrior (resonated), Supreme Might, Warrior, Lost and Found

    and that got us 5 torques very quickly. I doubt that anything other than Beast, Tiny Warrior, and L&F are truly required, but I can't be sure. A month of no drops followed by lots of drops after removing Might and adding Warrior could very well just be a coincidence.

    We did most of them with RDM/NIN (tank), BLM/NIN, BRD/WHM, and SMN/WHM (2boxed). PLD/NIN also does a fine job tanking it.

    Just to be sure: you're not farming marbles with L&F, correct? I don't believe SM can drop if you are.

    Are you farming with 094 on the board? 094 will PREVENT Supreme Might from dropping, so be sure to remove it.

    I know, I know. I have it but I don't use it in my marble farming maze.

    And I've never seen a SM rune, dammit .___.

    That's funny... I had 2 SM's dropped at once before, don't remember if I had L&F on though

    On the other hand, if you want job runes to drop, you DO need Lost & Found on your maze tabula. I'd guess SM is the more important rune to get though.

    I went to MMM like 5 times with marble farming setup (no L&F) with a lv 1 mule, got like 20-22 marbles each run but I have yet to see any runes drop. Is it just a coincidence or I can't use lv 1 mule trick and me (lv 75) clearing everything up to farm runes ?

    I've leveled a new job from 1-10 and on my first run (as a level 1) i got 2 "Dragon" Runes... So you can certainly get runes

    Coincidence. Rune drops can be very streaky. Out of four farming runs like that, I typically get at least 1 rune with 0 CC points. But I have gone 0/12 before. Just keep at it. They'll show up.

    Regarding Voucher 07

    Does anyone know what the NM's result in if you combine say Tiny Warrior and Great Warrior, or Motion and Stillness on the same maze?
    Will the mazes still drop their respective armour and weapons like when you combine say Great Warrior and Stillness?

    E.g. What would be the NM if you say put Beast + Tiny Warrior + Great Warrior, and would it still drop Ermines Tail and Gnole Torque?

    Does resonating say one or the other determine some kind of dominance if they don't work together?

    I'm still chasing my Koggelmander so I've had trouble getting to try these. Zero out of whatever. I've lost count.

    Regarding Voucher 06
    Has anyone determined what's the best possible rune combination for marble farming yet?

    What's the base marble count for it too?

    Has anyone determined what's the best possible rune combination for marble farming yet?
    I've been testing this a lot and the short answer is that this doesn't appear to be worthwhile. Here are some initial findings:

    -My max marble reward is 22 marbles, although I do use "Shortcut" which might be lowering my reward. I'll try taking it out and let everyone know what happens.

    -The marbles appear to be predetermined based on your runes. Collecting more treasure, or finishing faster, does not appear to affect the marble reward at all. (Obvious exception: finishing faster would increase Trial By Velocity reward).

    -Collecting more treasure and/or finishing faster may impact the item rewards, but I have never received an item worth more than 5k. Rewards have included Bison Steak, Shallops Tropicale, Mahogany Lumber, Wisteria Lumber, Mythril Ingot, and other cheap items.

    -Vouchers 2 and 3 both give 23 marbles when you max out the "difficulty" runes, so these might be better farming options. They are much easier and faster, as long as you have a lvl 1 mule. Voucher 1 gives 22 marbles and is the fastest of all.

    What's the base marble count for it too?

    What do you mean spawn randomly? The NM's are decided by the runes chosen. Or do you mean the game will chose between the NM for Tiny Warrior or Great Warrior? I guess this means you're sure the two runes are incompatible?

    This seems strange given someone posted a screenshot of V06 rune with 34 marbles using the shortcut rune too.

    Was the marble adjustment after the introduction of V06?

    It is my impression that if you do not include runes for mob family or mob size, you will get a completely random NM. Choosing a family or size simply narrows down the possible NMs, choosing both should lock it to a single NM that meets both criteria.

    I could be wrong, as I have not experimented with this.

    Marble adjustment and V06 were at the same time so that's not the answer. Runes 10 and 11 have a unique effect in this maze, increasing the number of enemies that appear. Perhaps this adds a lot of marbles?

    Also I resonate Stillness to make the monsters blind. Maybe this is penalizing me.

    Is it possible that the 34 marbles was from their CC lockbox? Where is the screenshot?

    Will do lol when I get some people interested.
    You can easily solo V06 especially for a "base run". I solo it all the time with the silence/amnesia runes (RR earring for the win).

    If no family rune is specified you get elementals corresponding to the day of the week you entered on. Dunno what effect motion or stillness have on them or if they even drop anything though.

    Okay, this might be the answer. I have been using Insurance Contract which eliminates xp loss for dying. I will try taking it out and who knows, maybe my marbles will skyrocket.

    This is what happened when I used the same runes as that other guy. Just to repeat, the runes are 94, 16 (resonated), 100, 104, 113.

    Apparantly there MUST be some factor that affects the marbles in voucher 6 besides the runes. Up until now, a particular rune combination has always given me the same # of marbles regardless of how much extra treasure I found.

    The goblin at the start talks about getting a better reward for finishing quickly, so that might be what happened here. I finished in under 15 minutes (before the first ominous rumblings). Normally I would have trouble winning in under 15 minutes, but I got very lucky with 2/3 papeteries spawning near the start and the other 1 being in the first place I looked on the second map.

    Edit: Hey pepe if you're reading this, I would much rather have gone on those mule runs with you. Sorry I wasn't feeling well at the time.

    I accidentally edited my previous post instead of making a new one. Anyway, brand-spanking-new results are in the post above, including (I believe) a new thread record for most marbles in 1 run.

    tl;dr: See my above post, even though it says June 23rd.
