Ah, coincidence then.
Ah, coincidence then.
Did 3 runs in a row with my last set up on V06. One with 5 extra treasure, one with 3, and one with none. All between 15 and 17 minutes (not that time should affect my set up), received 49 marbles and 200 xp on each. So the extra treasures don't seem to make any difference on marble count.
And honestly, has anyone gotten a decent item from these? Best I've gotten was aluminum ore (4k). Looks to me like they just slow you down and the benefit isn't worth the risk.
Does it make a difference on the chest items, either? In a friend's run last night we didn't turn in any items other than from chest, and he got 2 items in CC chest. Then the next run again no extra items, but got 3 items + a rune from the regular chest (038, HQ scorp shell, wool cloth, and a tav taco). Not sure if any items in CC chest from that run.
Maybe it can make the items "better," or a higher % chance for some to load? Or maybe setting velocity makes it so you can't get extra marbles from more items? (doubt this) Or maybe it's tiered, like 5 extra items > 10 extra items etc?
Edit: Spoke to the person who started 2nd run. Got a remedy from CC chest, there. Also confirmed that nobody turned in any extra items.
Well, you're right that it's bigger than 8 or 9. I did V06 today with 016, 103, and 098, and came out with 20 marbles. So either it is a 20 marble penalty or it cuts marbles in half.
It seems odd though that when I had it once on my V07 that reward went down to 1 marble from whatever it was, which makes me inclined to think there is a static penalty, although capped so you get 1 marble at least. I'll try out another combination to see if it's 1/2 or 20 marbles some time.
So far trying to reconcile the numbers, it's not adding up, although I'm assuming 22 marbles was clearing within 15 min. If it's static penalty, rune 113 comes to -8 penalty, but if it's 1/2 penalty, then rune 113 comes to -6. This doesn't seem to match with Rune 094 + 113 giving a 6 marble penalty since I'm assuming 094 has at least 1 marble penalty.
I'll do some more trial runs to see what runes give when I don't get to do my NM. Drop rates are stupid!
Also went looking at Duplidoc and the popular V06 combinations for Bahamut.
The most popular by far with 44 copied was
002, 009, 010, 011, 016, 072, 100, 103, 113 on M01.
Edit: Another possibility for me just getting 1 rune when I had 098 on my NM voucher is that the marble penalties are not the same for each Voucher.
016 Stillness had a 0 marble penalty on V01 before the update, and now on V06 it has a penalty.
Has anyone noticed if 016 gives a penalty on either their NM maze or V01-3 maze?
Turning in 3 items I got:
Obtained: HQ scorp, carbonara, hoardbox treasure pool: Shihei toolbad, silver ingot (was skilling gs, thanks XD), navarin, and moblin helm.
I think hoardbox is the regular 1st chest and the obtained was from the 2nd cc chest? not 100% sure <.<;
Did some more testing last night and this morning.
Bought rune 112. It reads "Obfuscated Entrance, the location of the maze entrance will be altered." The entrance spawned in the oblong room in NW corner of map 1, only tried it once so far so not sure if it's random. Granted this was a more centralized location, but due to poor placement of the shortcuts, it was no great help. Personally, I see this as a novelty, but not worth wasting space that could be used for a rune giving more marbles. Will probably try it once more though, just to see if entrance is random or always that spot.
For first run I did tabula 1, voucher 6, runes 2, 16, 72, 94, 98, 107, 112, and 113. Got 20 marbles, 200 XP, and runes 87 & 88 (did a 94 run since I still need a few of the dropped runes, and did need both of those ^^).
Second run I did tabula 3, voucher 6, runes 2, 9, 16, 74, 77, 79, 103, and 113. Got 53 marbles and 200 XP.
I've stopped using 107 because it just seems to add more spots for satchels, and there are more than I usually need already. Runes 2 and 9 I'm guessing make those mobs stronger (not more numerous) and since you are trying to avoid them anyhow, the marble boost is good.
I added 103 because I usually go as Rng/whm so I don't need to use abilities. Didn't use 104 because having poisona, erase, RR etc is helpful. I avoid using 100 and 101 just incase the papeteries spawn in bad spots I'd either get no bonus (100) or time out (101).
Tomorrow I'll try switching up just some of the 70 runes to see if they all give the same bonus or not.
Edit.
Also noticed that when I did a run with a lvl 25 mule, we both received the 200 XP, but when done with lvl 1 mules they get no XP. Not a huge thing, but thought it was interesting.
Just did a V06 run with just 016 and 072.
Reward was 200 exp and 39 marbles so 072 has a 2 marble reward. My guess would be that the other 07X runes also have the same reward, although if someone wants to check them out feel free.
If this assumption is true, then 107 - Reinforcement Contract has a 3 marble penalty, 113 - Shortcut has a 1 marble penalty, and 002 - Amorph has 2 marble reward. It's then likely that the other three runes 009, 010, and 011, also have a 2 marble reward.
Edit again : Bleh, this doesn't match up with Mellema's rewards so at least one of my assumptions is wrong. Back to testing more runes...
Didn't hand anything else in except the papetrie items and there was nothing in the chest. ( 0. C.C)
I'll do the same maze again tomorrow to double check.
Although, I thought I noticed this once before that when I never died I wasn't hit with the penalty.
Edit: tried again and you're right, no XP. Chalk it up to doing 7 or more mazes in a row and not recording everything right lol.
Gergall - finally giving something back to BG?!

248 marbles in 10 minutes. Granted, I got lucky with the Papeterie locations and therefore Trial By Velocity rewarded me handsomely.
BTW, 1 extra treasure handed in - beastcoin. I have noticed that beastcoin and silver beastcoin do not weigh you down at all, so I grab them when I see them.
That's pretty nuts lol Anyway, I wanted to post something I've noticed. Just in the last few days doing these runs, we normally don't have L&F set, but one friend who still needs 108 sets it, and it seems that the random crap you get at the end is possibly from a different pool. At least he's got some stuff I've never seen on the non-L&F runs, like sole sushi and beastmen blood. Maybe just coincidence, though.
There's also a curious setup on Duplidoc. Has Stillness, Reinforcement, and Shortcut, and also has Guidance and Insurance, Lost and Found, and Prospector. Makes me wonder if maybe L&F has that effect on drops, and then he's farming items from the final chest using mining inside? It's a fairly popular maze, too, like 21 purchases.
Did a V06 a while back, got Beastmen Blood and Sole Sushi on a non L+F run, funny you mention it. Usually it's typically 2 Gigant Squid + random junk like sushi or grim/nebonimites,
Setup ive been using is Lakshmis most popular 06 run:
Tabula 03
Darkness
Evasion
Steady Mind
Trial by Velocity
Stillness
Shortcut
Protection
Did anyone find out exactly what Goldagrik's Generosity does? I think im going to make my own 06 soon and test some things out.
Back on the topic of Liquidation runs, anyone know if Job runes affect drop rates at all? I know there were some success stories earlier in the thread, but has anyone determined if it helps (versus using magic skills and such but no job) or they just got lucky?
It's definitely possible that our lucky streak with WAR rune was just luck, but...based on what I've seen, if I were setting up a Liquidation maze for someone, I'd use it. We polished off our remaining drops so quickly after we changed to using it; basically all we got without it was 3 MMJ earrings and 2 (unintended) Koggelmanders in the first month or so, and then a month of empty rabbits. After dropping M for WAR: 5 torques, 4 lyc. earrings, 4 sashes, 2 Zaide, and 1 Ermine's Tail in a few weeks.
Maybe there is someone out there who changed from WAR to M or Divine and was suddenly flooded with drops after a long dry spell; I don't know. Or who just plain went dozens of runs with our successful setups and got nothing. Obviously, we're not continuing to test it anymore >.> It's something that would be awfully hard to state conclusively.
Wow. Nice. If you use M01 tabula though, I'm sure you could fit in another rune like 010 or something for another however many marbles. I'm not sure how resonating Stillness has an effect, but I've not noticed anything different when I do.
Tried figuring out the marble count for 002 yesterday, but failed the run since my partner got caught without RR while taking a papetrie back, and I was scouring the back for the last one. I did find out though that if you have aggro from the Terrormonger, using Eau de Moblin won't make him lose aggro. He'll only stand still when you're dead....
I'm not sure there's enough data to tell. Drop rates seem so streaky.
My own Tabula for Tanihwa has the red mage rune and enhancing magic set, and I've set to see any weapon drop from that crate. It doesn't have Supreme Might though, but it does have Might set. I can't remember the exact setup right now since I've changed it occasionally, but I'll go back later and get the runes I use.
Goldagrik's Generosity:MMM personnel will be stationed within the maze to assist the client.
That has to be the worst description on a rune so far. Did not notice any extra MMM personnel in the maze, but didn't go to jail, so maybe that NPC would do something. What I did see was an extra Goblin Digger (who wanted to kill me, not assist me) and a wider selection of items obtained from the ???. Items I hadn't seen before were Goblin die, Wootz ingot, Pile of Relic Iron, Jar of Goblin grease, and Giant frozen head. Just one of those items will weigh you down about as much as carrying the 3 items from the papeteris. When my mule was carrying 3 of the new items it was down to the walking animation, and doing that very slow.
I ended up turning in Giant head, Goblin die, Wootz ingot, Relic iron, Goblin grease, Slime juice, Silver ore, beastcoin, and 2 Lancewood luimber, along with the Griffon hide, Orc liver, and Sparkling stone. Was excited when I started seeing the new items, thinking I might get better treasure, so spent extra time getting all of that. In the hoardbox I got 1 remedy, and in the Lockbox (just 1 CC) I got a grimmonite and a platinum nugget (edited thought it was ore at first). Very disappointing. I may buy "Prospector" tomorrow and see if it helps.
Used rune 112 (obfuscated entrance) again, but the entrance spawned in the usual spot. Well have to try a few more times I guess to see if there are other spots.
Goblin Diggers occasionally plant a "Buried Treasure". If you see a goblin jumping around, a Buried Treasure is about to spawn where he is standing. So technically, the goblins do "assist" you in this manner, but I agree that the translation appears to be very poor.
If you are certain that 111 (Generosity) causes a 2nd digger to spawn, then this could very well be the only effect of the rune.
BTW I have seen Goblin Die as the buried treasure on more than one occasion.
Someone had posted that if you use Trial By Numbers in Voucher 6, it causes 9 Papeteries to spawn instead of 3. Has anyone confirmed this? I don't think I could solo that (at least not with consistency), but I'm curious if there is a big marble boost to go along with it.
We did a couple numbers runs in the last few days. Spawns 6 chests. I think perhaps more than the usual 2 can be up at any given time though? Maybe not. Hard to tell what the marble bonus was because slightly longer runs offset the velocity bonus (and because I didn't make a note of it and don't remember what we got lol)
Got 54 marbles today in my highest non-velocity maze yet: 002, 009, 016, 074, 078, 101, 103, and 113, completely filling M03. It's one more than I got yesterday with 073 instead of 101. Gonna do a run soon without 101 so I can see what the marble increase was from 73 and 101, but I think tomorrow I might rather try replacing 101 with 010 and 011, since 002 and 009 seem to be considerable marble increases.
