More thoughts and observations on V05.
When Chaperix hits level 60 he says some shit in JP. I think that might be his highest level?
Tried a run where someone else killed the boxes and got the ??? items, but then I wasn't able to change his job since I was controlling Chaperix and I didn't have the body boost and STR potion. Unless there's some way to swap between who controls him? If not, what seemed decent was to have one person go down and destroy boxes and the person controlling Chaperix come down later and spam all the ???s.
Weapon upgrade option seems to be either based on his level or the number of Left paths you've done, but I'm betting on level since it seems to be a continuation of the job change. On that assumption, we should try to figure out the earliest level. I was able to get the first one at level 15.
Tried to do a run with maxed everything: Cleared Left 3 times, Right 3 times, Lv60 Walloper, both weapon upgrades, but we missed 1 dinky spider for Mid3 and wasn't enough time to go back. Fought the slimes which Chaperix disposed of quickly with his 10 Delay Ridill. Friend whose run it was got VIT+2 DEF+6 belt from Hoardbox, STR-2 and some other negative stat from the C.C. chest.
It seems like maybe level up is based on damage done? Going Left1 after Mid1 where the first few mobs take a bit longer, it also takes some time for him to level up. Wondering if Mid1 > Mid2 > Left1~3 > Mid3 wouldn't be a better progression.
Also, meant to mention this the other day, but for the people who are just trying it out and having issues getting the key. You have to make sure that Chaperlix is up next to you when you talk to the dude at the top, and again with you down at the smith gob, and again back up top. Otherwise those gobs give you their regular "not doing anything for you" dialog. Also, I wonder if there's any detrimental effect to talking to the key guy early; if you do it at job change that will save you a min of running at the end since you'll get the key talking to smith gob while doing weapon upgrades.
Just talk to him in the "lobby" type area, not inside one of the three paths. There's a choice telling him to follow you, then he'll switch to following that player around instead. You can also ask him which items he has, how much money he has, what level he is, etc.
We didn't run it again yesterday (decided to xp in V01 instead), but if you're managing to get him to level 60 your level-up method is definitely more effective than any of the ones we tried. Seems like the translators skipped a few spots, when he would use a Remedy it would also have a message in Japanese in the chatlog.
I'm disappointed that even getting him to level 60 didn't guarantee positive-stat belts. Were they the level 75 belt type? We had a theory that higher-level goblin = higher-level belt, just wondering if that's still seeming to follow. One other thought that I had is that maybe the "stat type" on the belt reward depends on which job you give him. We always got melee-related stats when we changed his job to Walloper, but we had some MP stats the first try, when he was still a sort of general-purpose type that could cast spells.
And yes, his Ridill is hilarious, he goes crazy on mobs by the end.
They were the Moblin Cest. And the positive stat one came from the regular chest, maybe the CC chest just doesn't reflect it? Lots of glitches in the maze so I wouldn't be surprised lol
Also I'm not 100% he was level 60, since as I said the message was in JP and I didn't think to talk to him after to make sure, but he was level 59 and then the message occurred around when he should have gotten a level-up.
If you want to try to mirror what we did on that run, this is how it went to the best of my recollection. I went in, got Chap, went down middle path, killed worms including a couple extras to get him to level 5 (actually 6 this run), meanwhile friends cleared boxes. I went to down right, clicked the ???s, then went out and did job change while they cleared boxes again, went down and clicked the ??? again. Then I did first Left path while they cleared the boxes from right 3, then I went and clicked those and did first weapon upgrade (I think I did that at this point, he was lv15 i know for sure so fits the timeline). Then did the next two left paths. I think I did 2nd weapon upgrade after they were all done, but it could have been between 2nd and 3rd, I forget. Then did the two middle paths (missing that 1 dinky ;x) then did Key quest and went battle. Had about 2 min remaining on time when it was all over. M01, V05, no runes set whatsoever.
Did a couple runs just now. He does seem to cap at lv60, but it's a coincidence because when he hit 60 he didn't have a JP message lol just he killed a few more spiders without levelling so again it stands to reason.
First run only got him to 50ish though, because levelled him Mid1 > Mid2 > Left1~3 > Mid3. Fought the slimes and got Lv75 belt with VIT-2 Attack+6. No runes set.
Second run went back to Mid1 > Left1~3 > Mid2~3, which got him to 60. This time we used the "come with me" command so that one person could just handle all the boxes and just steal chaperix for job change, key synth, and weapon upgrades, and that seemed to shave off 5min of time. Did Job change after Mid1, and both weapon upgrades after Left2. Final fight was animated weapons, and with regular + CC chests got Lv75 belts, one with VIT+1, one with HP-6 Acc+3 Att-2. Runes set were 36, 52, and 100.

the other belt had magic defense -2 so i assume you can get a MDB belt also.
I tried V05 with 17, 18, and numbers. There didn't seem to be any more mobs than usual, but he *seemed* to level up faster. He did not require any cure bombing that you'd expect if the mobs were in fact higher level.
However, when i got him to the final battle area, there didn't seem to be any mobs anywhere, at first. I walked him to the center-pit area, then triple sword clusters (like triple bats) started appearing. LOTS of them. He did not last long; was level 47 ish. I'll wager it was Numbers that popped all of the sword clusters.
Tried V05 with just 108 attached. Wasn't that prepared for what was going to come, so only did Left1, Mid1 and Right3, both weapon upgrades, and mage class, ending up at level 40. Still managed to finish it, and ended up with level 60 belts.
First Belt: MND-3
Second Belt (CC chest): MP-8 M.acc-3 Magic Crit +2%
Both NPC'd for 950 gil. At the very least, this should confirm that you can get higher values than +1 for the magey stats... hoping to get some fast cast belts from here.
Also, I'm not sure if this was because I found a revitalizer or because all Mage-type Chaperixes do this at the final fight, but he sure as hell surprised me when I went up there and brought him to the slimes:

So then it definitely seems like Chaperix's job will influence the type of stats on your belt reward. We always got melee-type belts, you're using a mage job and getting mage stats.
Didn't see anything on the melee ones so far that makes me excited, but a Fast Cast belt definitely has potential.
Tried V05 again, with 17, 18, Monk, 108, but no numbers this time. i STILL had dozens of "Possessed Longswords" etc. he did better this time since i upgraded his weapon and had him do close combat training, he was level 50ish, i think. I had a friend, jarnol, run through the right one (crate smashing one) three times, and i went through middle three times, but didn't complete third wave. The combination of 17 and 18 might be what forces the "possessed weapons," it's not the job i pick for him, as last time i had Black Mage job Rune and the Spellcaster job from NPC.
I know everyone wants to figure out how to influence the stats on the final reward belts. Unfortunately I can tell you that even though I used 19 and 20 to make the mobs very weak, I received only positive stats on both the regular and CC belts.
We may control the type of stats with the gobbie's job, but the quality of the stats might be largely or entirely random.
We've gotten the waves of Possessed weapons with just 102 on. Also, otherwiki says that the slime boss is four slimes, yet we had five when we did it. Again, that was with 102 on. I have a feeling that the boss you get is fairly random, but you can alter it's strength/numbers some how. I've only run this three times, so my feeling is purely anecdotal.
As a side question, are marble rewards different from voucher to voucher for the same runes? For example, I thought 102 added 3 marbles to V06, yet it only added 2 to V05. Has anyone noticed any other marble-related differences?
I have done 3 runs now and the first two times I didn't change his job I got slimes as the boss. This time I changed his job to mage and got weapons. I think the augmented Belt might be job related aswell. First two times I did it we got melee augments. Today when I did it, I got that shitty belt that I posted in the Augment thread.
I need to farm marbles, but I don't really have a melee job leveled. The closest thing would be a RDM without a joy. Suggestions?
Voucher 6 can get you a lot of marbles solo.
Duos work as well.
You can start out as Julian did and buy duplidoc voucher 6 mazes. If you have no experience with voucher 6, I advise going daily rather than saving up CC points, because its very frustrating to lose after saving up for 3 days.
The most important rune on voucher 6 is 16 (stillness) as it makes the mobs nearly blind. Don't go without it.
Voucher 5 is good if you want an easier time (virtually zero chance of XP loss, whereas voucher 6 can kill you repeatedly if you aren't careful). The potential marbles is much less, though. We now know that Voucher 5 also has a shot at a fast cast belt.
Since the base for V05 is 25 marbles, I'm interested to see if we can get it up around 35-40 somehow. I'd take 20 fewer marbles in exchange for a shot at a fast cast belt, obviously assuming it was run everyday. There's no competing with V06 + CC for marbles.
Has anyone been having any issues creating a maze after the emergency update? I'm on fairy and I have been unable to ever since they did it.
The belt I got today on my Mules run.

Also, anyone know what he said in Japanese? He kept saying it whenever he used a Remedy.
