I think it was to do with the "Just take my gil" option, or something, when you wanted to exchange gil for items on the moblin npc.

Called up a GM, asked them how the fuck I lost 600k.

When I was auto jailed (by accident, by their system) they told me I would be reimbursed Assault Points, this was over a month ago and they haven't given me jackshit despite a GM contacting me for a second time about reimbursing and what zone I lost AP from etc.

Haha, well I didn't lose my gil when I chose that because I had no marbles at the time but didn't lose my gil..but if it did happen with that it would probably be one of those:

"Hey..take all of my gil!"
NPC: "..OKAY! *takes all of player's gil.*
"Hey..wtf!? where's my gil!?"
NPC: "You said to take it!..Fine I'll give it back. *hands gil over*"

'joke' scenarios a lot of RPGs do..and it broke <.<
