Throw a New Years Eve party.. Or go to Vegas!?

Trying to decide wether to throw a New Years Eve party or head to Vegas and just have a blast. Obviously I would save some cash by just getting trashed at my place with some friends, but Im not sure I want to spend a week rebuilding my house afterwards. Also, I Vegas is a bit pricy this year.

Nothing more I enjoy than New Years eve at a friends house with 20 other people. You can go to vegas anytime, it's not always easy to get 20 friends together in one place. If you have a decent size garage, get a space heater and set up the garage.

At 10:20 pm, take your first shot of beer, then take 1 shot every minute until at 12:00 you take your 100th shot. Wasted. I promise.

Also played a game where we lined up into teams and flipped some cups. I'll see if I can't find a better description somewhere, it's fun as hell.

I'm also a big fan of the hang out with friends and get drunk idea, when your friends (or you) all spread out and get jobs, that's the time to organize a big trip or something since everyone will all need to travel to get together anyway.

Hahaha, you're description of Flip Cup cracked me up. Good stuff. But yea... if you can, play Flip Cup, only instead of simple cups of beer... use Irish Carbombs. It makes the game a lot more interesting for those who can handle it.

And as far as the Party v. Vegas... I'd say stay in a save your money. If anything, throw a themed party. I'm a big fan of the classy Black and White Party. Have everyone dress up in shirt and tie, dresses, and basically look as fresh as possible. I've gone to a few, and always want to get my friends to do it... but they're idiots.

We used to have the same group of friends together for a number of New Years in a row, and every year,we ended up doing videotaped predictions for ourselves and each other for the next year. Then the following year, we'd watch them in the moments leading up to midnight and laugh at each other's predictions. All while drinking, of course.

Power Hour is a great idea but with 40 more minutes. Flip cup is a great game. Can't go wrong with Beer Pong but substitute Jaeger instead of beer.

Vegas is going to be crazy expensive. Not to mention trying to find a decent place to stay, planning the trip and finding at least one person to go with you. Vegas by yourself isn't that much fun :/

Seriously? Vegas Neo. VEGAS. Just do yourself a huge favor, don't bring any credit/debit cards with you, just cash. That way if you get monumentally shitfaced, which let's face it is a very likely probability, you won't go apeshit taking out money etc. Friend of mine did Vegas on New Year's and ended up withdrawing about four thousand dollars from his account blowing it on fucking roulette.

you have to remember alot of people will also be in vegas. there's a good chance. so also weigh into your decision whether or not you would enjoy being around a big crowd or rather be in a smaller setting

I would stay home. I don't see what is so great about New Years in Vegas other than the midnight celebration. Unless you plan on going with a few of your friends, even if it's just two, along to Vegas, I wouldn't waste the money on a huge trip like that.

Hosting your own party is always a plus. You have to make sure your friends aren't drunk kleptomaniacs, though. There are plenty of preventative measures you can take to make the cleanup easier. For one, pray your place isn't fully carpeted. Coasters, everywhere - water rings are annoying (personal pet peeve). Plenty of paper towels for quick cleanups.

I say stay home dawg. You and I both know you will get approached and asked "Excuse me sir, but are you saved under our lord and savior Jesus Christ who died for our sins..." which will subsequently lead to you being arrested for knocking the poor guys teeth out while drunk.

Court, fines, community service etc... Crash at the pad and be merry. The 2 times it came back back to bite me in the ass I was arrested on both accounts and I was A) Drunk and B) In public. Just save the drama lol

Vegas at New Years and Halloween is a Blast and recommend you do it at least once in your life, especially when young and stupid.

That being said, last few times we had a New Year's party at a friends house was also a blast.

Oh yea Vegas = hot porn stars that are drunk.

My friend used to make Power Hour CDs, where the song would change every minute. He'd do 70's, 80's, Classic Rock, I think he's working on a hip-hop one.

There is a Power Hour application you can use on I-tunes that changes song and tells you to drink every minute, that's a cool idea to have them themed though.
