Fallen Heroes was great, some of the best books are in the spin-off book series New Frontier where they have Captain Calhoun (not a big part of any of the big shows) and Commander Shelby, and their completely insane gang of very original crews, likes to explore old topics (what has been happening with this and that, tie ins with other crews, connecting a lot of dots etc.) great stuff

I liked (from the original series) Uhura's Song - very neat story about catpeople (no, not furries, just different wars and cat people)

Went looking for that one when I saw the author was on that list of 2008 deaths. Thought I had it, but couldn't find it.

And as such the new Star Trek movie will get rave reviews based on the computer's performance, much like Batman did for The Joker. Sad news indeed.

Somehow, I don't think we'll be going to see it for Majel's voice- having her in every movie was a nod to the long legacy of the series, not because she was acting in them. This doesn't change my "Not sure if want..." reaction to the new series.

Though she was a fun character in Next Generation as Troi's mom.

Agreed, before that I had held the belif that ST books were meh, at best. That book was pure awesome, Q in Law was a good read as well.

I had always enjoyed her acting, and she was rather cute in her youth, love how they simply changed her hair color and put her aside McCoy when the exec's decided they couldn't have a female first officer and no one was the wiser.
