Just wondering about gear to aim for as I level. Not in a loot-whoring-must-be-uber way but in stuff I can practically lay my hands on.
I'm 47 so let's not panic yet >.> but I'm about to try and push this up fairly fast. NIN and WHM subs are done, RNG is 27 and in progress (and by far an away my favourite sub). Should I level WAR? It's 26. I am not a melee, assume I know nothing about melee stats!
GOT:
Vision Earring
Shark Gun
Luzaf's Ring
Denali Body
Joyeuse
Commodore's Gants (we had something stupid like 7 pairs drop in 2 runs)
Can't get the ToAU ring because I have Balrahn's and can't give it up (see Sig)
Salvage not currently realistic.
I'm doing dynamis and limbus and assume af+1 feet, body and head would be good?
Do I need to work on some Pahluwan? (we're nearly done with Nyzul) and should I buy dusk pants or try and get denali kecks or both?
Both /WAR and /RNG are good subs to have, so you should level those. /RNG is what you should be subbing almost all the time til the 70s, anyways.
I use Pahluwan body on TP and it's a good piece too on R.atk if you don't have AF2 body; about the legs, I use those on WS and dusk legs on Barrage/R.atk stuffs.
anyway, by when you can change your ToAU ring?
Magic accuracy toau ring should do you just fine in your Quick Draw set ^^
going back to the mkris/joytoy debate, i borrowed my friends Mkris for about a week... and as far as events were concerned i was greatly dissapointed in its performance, even with 8/8 dagger merits and none in sword, i was hitting for about 0 far to often, while with joyeuse, if i was hitting i was always above 10, and this was in dynamis glacier btw, after this last week of using kris, i would say that joyeuse is many times better for events, even with 8 merits vs no merits
on the other hand, soloing (mostly for zeni pics) has been stupidly fun with mkris
p.s. anyone know if any testing whatsoever was done with Mag. Acc for QD?
I've never seen anything conclusive but people tend to think since Magic Attack is a factor then Magic Accuracy should be as well. That being said, the only piece of mag. acc I use in QD is in my Denali Kecks. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think there are even any substantial pieces of magic accuracy that COR could even use that would outclass AGI gear for that same slot.
Denali Gamashes
Balrahn's Ring
Well, in light of the testing with INT vs magic accuracy, the assumption of 2AGI = 1 magic accuracy for QD may not be as easily justified anymore, so I think some more testing might be needed before we determine how much macc outclasses a given amount of AGI in a certain slot.
Of course, we should bring out some conclusive evidence that macc affects QD at all, but I think throwing on a RDM roll and observing the long term effects can serve as support for that claim until then, at least.
I use omega+balrahn's to save inventory if nothing else. Can't imagine AGI rings would be much better.
Yeah, they're probably about the same.
Corsair's frac +1 vs Denali Jacket...
... for Slug Shot?
... for Detonator?
go.
Depending the rest of your build and food, I'd probably go with AF+1 body for Slug/meat and denali for the other three cases - although skadi is an obvious upgrade over AF+1.
What does that have to do with whether or not it's an upgrade?
I made no statement about how large of an upgrade Skadi was, but no matter how you put it, it's an obvious upgrade. What you're saying is similar to saying zenith mitts +1 aren't an upgrade to zenith mitts because they cost a lot for a small increase. And not like WS would be the only reason to get Skadi, so I'm not sure where you're trying to go with this one, really.
But yes, carry on. Let's just pretend Skadi body doesn't exist, if it makes you feel better.
Cause the question was AF+1 or Denali for Slug and Det, not Skadi.
Skadi body is just way overpriced for a very small upgrade.
Skadi's Cuirie may be a small upgrade during weaponskill, and a small upgrade during melee TP, and a small upgrade during ranged TP... But the cumulative effect of all that is rather clear - it's the best Corsair body in the game.
I know 10-11m is harsh. I'm well on my way, with probably as humble a means to make gil as anyone here - from beehive chips, to bird feathers/meat, to bugards - though sadly bugards are no longer viable lol. But it'll be meaningful to me as what I've accomplished from nightly Salvage, as well as an incredible amount of farming.
As for Denali Jacket vs Corsair's Frac +1 on Slug Shot, it depends on where your hit rate is. For Det though, Denali is an easy choice.
