Starcraft 2 Battle Report (Specs Not Released)

You saw the game, its still pretty colorful. The Terran change was a necessary one imo, I think it fits them a lot better now. Protoss isn't changed much, they still have fairly high saturation and I think that works for them. The zerg one I don't think was too much about making them less colorful, just more distinctive. They were a lot more difficult to see on creep before the change, which was a big no-no.

And while I'm in this thread, I have to say the "high grass" thing is a great addition. Luring people in trap is going to be awesome with this.

I think the new colors look much better than the old ones. Thought it looked way too much like the Warcraft style, which was way more cartoony than the original SC.

There's only 2 battle reports (the other one is in the OP). There are other videos with starcraft 2 footage, but they are all over the place. Just search youtube if you want.

Unless you're talking about watching some of the starcraft 1 matches we were referencing earlier, there are a million of those, and they are on all the time. Theres some info in this thread for that, both in the OP and throughout.

Was it me or did the Terran Player just kick the other guys ass in both reports? I never saw him really come close to winning in either matches playing the Zerg or Protoss

Yea the terran player won both matches but the zerg put up a better fight than the protoss.

Great match thought Zerg was going to get an early win but great turnaround by the Terran. Surprised no Tanks or Medics but maybe the other units are considered better in SC2?

there are no medics in SC2. they are replaced by the Medivac which is the standard shuttle from starport with auto healing abillity similiar to medics.

Could just be the strategy he chose. I mean, you don't see every unit in every game in Starcraft 1, no reason to expect different here.

The players are the same in both btw, and the Terran is a much better player for sure. He was a very good known Starcraft 1 player in the past while the other guy is just one of the better in house testers I think.

I love these battle reports. However when they mentioned that they had just recently added an ability in a few weeks ago and the testers were still learning how to use it, it makes me sad. If they are still adding in new things, then the game is even further away from being released than I feared.

He might have been. If not progamer, than at least practice partner or top amateur back in the day. I have no idea who the other guy is but he's gotten destroyed by Kim in both matches shown so far lol.

The new Zerg effects they built into the game graphics are really...detailed and...anatomic looking. Pretty gnarly shit.
