Gonna' try here before making a new thread, I suppose.
As far as PLD/RDM goes, are there any special sorts of gear that you should be using for it? Is it worth carrying around a +MND set to max out as much of stoneskin potency as you can? Should I toss as much enhancing gear on my phalanxes as I can to get max damage reduction?
Pretty much, what do I need besides my standard bread and butter /nin set?
Don't blink
(I kid, I kid)
I tried searching for a good forced PLD cure macro set, but didn't come up with a lot of hits. Anyone got a good hp- then hp+ macro set that could post? Budget set would be nice to see, but any example is ok.
Budget items you can use:
-HP:
Star Necklace
Ether, Electrum Ring
Settler's Cape
Astral Rope
+HP:
HP Earrings (There are quite a few)
Bomb Queen Ring, Bloodbead, Sattva
RSE belts
Those are some relatively cheap or free items.
There are more efficient builds but they're not as easy to get as the pieces listed above.

Isn't budgeted by any means but this is a good goal to set as you start collected r/e items and there are a few cheap AHables there.
Thanks for the quick responses. One last question though, when you make your cure macros what sort of delay do you add for your /wait times in-between the hp- then hp+ gear switch? Just sort of curious what other people are using for theirs.
Also, what's the macro for un-equipping a piece of gear? /remove and /unequip didn't work for me.
Well I figured I'd post an update for anyone that was confused on gear choices or just wanted an example. I found really cheap gear w/ a few R/E pieces that gets me to that magic number of 200 hp cured and w/o having to blink (not going into that). Granted it's not perfect and could use more enmity, but it does the job.

The main issue that I was having was a lot of gear give up lots of HP, but at a huge loss of losing mp. So if you were close to full mp, you would lose 60-80 mp just for one cure.
I found gear that gave hp w/o reducing your max mp so much.
First off, to be a paladin you must first be a masochist.
Second, When i swap in my HP gear i put a wait time of 5. I used to have 4 but i noticed my gear was swapping back too fast and I never got enough healing done. With my HP gear switch I heal for about 390 Cure IV (Around there or right under that). Ive got tons of gear sets but it truly helps to have an HP set. Mage's have an instant spider sense when you go low on HP so having this helps.
But overall everyone's got the right track of what gear to use.
I'm working on leveling PLD for endgame use, and before I got there I figured I'd get some things squared away first.
1) How many different sets of gear is required? By my count, 1 for Haste(/NIN), one for Enmity, one VIT/Physical Damage -%/Shield Skill if you're gonna get hit, and a Magic Damage -%/elemental resistance set? Not sure if I'm clear on all those or if some overlap.
Haste is a must, Enmity usually comes with the normal stuff that you get (Macua, Koenig Shield, etc) Defense/Damage reduction is good to have, not required. Jelly Ring, BQ ring, Koenig Head are good to have. Magic reduction sets are good if you want to tank big HNM, and if there's any main elemental resist to aim for, it should be fire.
2) How does the Koenig set fair? I'm doing sky and point wise I'm ahead, so I could have first picking of both pieces. The Helm I can see as an obvious asset for a beginner paladin for a shield skill set when shadows are down, but how about the hands?
Head is good, besides that, It's only good for blood tanking
3)Aside from Dynamis, where else would /WAR be useful over /NIN?
Nyzul Isle it works in, possibly Einherjar if your ls takes PLDs for it... /WAR is very limited in uses, so it's good to have other subs
Sorry for the noobish sounding questions, just don't know a WHOLE lot on PLD so getting it clear before it hits 75.
:D
Koenig is great for /DNC Waltz set.
