Can't add when you edit, but while I set this up, here is a mix a close friend of mine did of some of the famous christmas songs. Takes a good 6 mins till it starts to bring home the bacon. Give it time, promise you won't regret. Just click play in pop up.

I wanted to know where to start, I don't have a Mac Book so I'm kind of left in the dark about it.

By this I mean DJ programs and free/pro mixing programs.

this article lists some commonly used software at the bottom. ableton is the big pro one, but it's extremely expensive ($650usd) and massively huge (44+gb).

I use Acid 6.0 Pro, got it for free, very diffcult to understand but it does the job nicely.

NATIVE INSTRUMENTS : LISTEN TO PRO is a start. Every DJ I've seen swing through Beta here in Denver uses it.

You have a couple of options for Traktor. Traktor 3 is a pure digital interface, where as Traktor Scratch comes with an audio unit that allows you to use turntables or CDJ's as a MIDI interface with digitally encoded CD's or vinyl to control the mp3's.

Stanton recently released :: SCS.3d :: DaScratch ::. Which is it's own touch pad MIDI interface that's compatible with most DJ software. I plan on getting these to add to my setup of 2 Technic Mk2's running with Traktor Scratch.

They're perfect for the starting DJ as they retail for 250, have 2 channels per deck, effects, and a mixer.

One of those DaScratch's replaces about $1000 in equipment for DJing, and it's gotten amazing reviews from professionals and amateurs alike.

I'll post some old DnB mixes I've done this evening, as well as some newer minimal / techno mixes I've done.

Edit: In case some people don't know, techno is a genre itself of dance music. Not a blanket term like electronica.

Got a bit tied up, here's a minimal mix I've done. First 5 minutes or so something happened and it's panned way to the right. It sorts itself out after that for the rest though.
