    Crafting belt, +1/+2/+3 support?

I read the post at the top, it says unpaid support is +1, paid support is +3 and the belt is +3.

Now I just came back after a 2 year break and last time I checked the discussion was that unpaid was 1, paid was 3 and the belt was considered 2 or 3 with a lot of speculation because of its wording saying plain "Synthisis Support"

Now I did several forum searches and couldn't come up with any results but if someone knows of a post or knows some info that lead to this discussion as I would like to know how that came to be the accepted truth(atleast I assume it is since its at the top of this forum).

Mainly I want to know because it determines if I am T1 on Elemental staffs or T2 depending on the support I get.

Save your guild points for something else, get advanced support.

But is there any posts or theory crafting that has done the research on the belt support level?

its +3 and easy to test... do something with belt support that puts you in tier 3 with support/ t2 without.

I tested with Himantes forever ago when those came out. It was a dirt cheap borderline t3 synth... so at 100 +0, lv. 52 synth, with belt support only, hq's were more than would be expected from the same set without advanced support. Test it yourself or save the time.

Only the fishing belt is +2. All the others are +3.

I don't have any proof or testings, but seeing as the item is rather old, I think it's safe to assume it would have been noticed by now if it was only +2.

Definately +3, as woodworking you need the +3 to get tier 2 on staves, and this most definately puts you in that tier.

    ^This.

Is the wrong way to test. Don't rely on HQ rate, since we all know the HQ rate is never a stable thing.

Unfortunately the only way to test accurately is to get the belt, and attempt to synth something that caps 18 levels above you're current level. Obviously won't allow you to synth normally, put on the belt and if it lets you synth... then the Belt = +3. I say unfortunately because for most people the only time they get this belt is when their main craft is at a point when there are no crafts 18 levels above them. Easy way around is do it when you hit 28 on a subcraft.

But I've always considered the Belt to be +3. I have a mule capable of doing this test (GP and all) atm, so I might post back pictures just so you can see with your own eyes.

while it may be subjective, you will se a noticable difference between a tier 2 and tier 3 synth as far as hqs go.. and if you're already lvl 100, testing by hqs is pretty much the only way. Unless of course you test it on a sub craft belt... whatever floats your boat. ^.^ also, like i said, himantes are dirt cheap and an occasional gp item and at the perfect level.. but either way you test it, its still +3...

I would love to know how anyone can say that fishing belt is +2 for sure, and not +3, or even +1. I'm not saying it's wrong, I'm just saying there's no way to know.

I would say WW belt is +3 since from the few I've used I got a pretty perfect 25% on staves. Of course it could be +2 and me being really lucky on T1s, but I don't believe it at all.

you can only have belt support or NPC support active at once right, not both?? (never bought a belt as I am always crafting in town so I wanted to check).

They are +3. Tested this with my leathercraft sub a while ago.

Can only have one support active at one time.
