I love the show and all, I just hope the mother ends up being someone important, not someone random he'll meet in a future season...otherwise what's the point of building all of this up? In the first couple of episodes in the first season, Future Ted says that everything he tells them has a significance to the whole picture, so we'll see..

We know it's not Robin because a few seasons back they showed pictures of the kids' drawings when they were younger "with Aunt Robin" ... unless they'll introduce another Robin. >.>

I think it's just titled 'the last slap' because it's the last slap shown... I doubt they'll back out of the 5 slaps.

Um? Since when was it law that you had to spit out a baby as soon as you get married? What makes you think that he doesn't meet the mother, dates her for a while before finally getting married, stays married for a few years, and then the mother gets pregnant and all that?

After all; it's just called "How I Met Your Mother"... so I don't know if that means we'll see the actual wedding and all that.

i really think the 'how i met your mother' thing is just a plot device to give this sitcom a different feel from others. i really doubt she will be a major character in any of the next few seasons. so much of the show is flashbacks within flashbacks or just about nothing important. i think its just a creative premise they are using instead of calling the show "Friends 2" or something

Few good lines tonight but not one of my favorites.

Although I'm glad they're expanding NPH's character, I just find it very hard believing his emotion and feelings for Robin, I think he possibly played the player role too well.
