Not really. The rational progression would be that either a remaining Celestial or Terrestial Avatar(s) would be added. SE has said that Bahamut isn't going to be a choice, so that leaves us with Alexander, Odin, or Phoenix.

I'm not suggesting that adding the Magus Sisters isn't going to happen, but it just seems odd that this new summon would just appear out of nowhere with no mention of it in the games history or lore. A known new summon, even something like Cait Sith or Atomos just seems far more likely.

Magus Sister would = a new Summon.
Magus Sisters are three mage sisters.
Magus Sisters in X were insect themed.
Child asked for a Bee Mage.

Remember that Simpson's episode where Professor Frink was questioning Xena about plot holes?
Lucy Lawless: ... but I'm sure that once girls get to know the real you, you'll get plenty of dates. Next question?
[hands go up. She picks Frink]
Frink: Yes, over here, n'hey, n'hey. In episode BF12, you were battling barbarians while riding a winged Appaloosa, yet in the very next scene, my dear, you're clearly atop a winged Arabian. Please do explain it.
Lucy Lawless: Ah, yeah, well, whenever you notice something like that, a wizard did it.
Frink: I see, all right, yes, but in episode AG4 --
    Lucy Lawless: Wizard!
Frink: [under breath] Aw, for glaven out loud.

Dissidia won't have a villian from FFXI. Shantotto is a secret character, and the alternate secret character is the Judge Magister from FFXII. There won't be a good guy from FFXII, either.

    Fenrir = RoZ
    Diablos = CoP
    As for new avatars...
Odin or Alexander = ToUA ?
Ixion, Cait Sith or Atomos = WotG ?
They might stick with that line. A avatar per expansion.
Idk where the Magus Sisters would fit.

(forgot about Cait Sith and Atomos)
Except SE has told SMNs very clearly, twice:

the new summons will be Chocobo and Mog.
Chocobo will let you ride it for a free chocobo, and Mog will be a nomad moogle for wherever you are.

(and btw the bee mage thing has been done to death already in this thread.)

I'm not so sure about Odin/Alex only because Diabolos really came out of left field with a random update. They didn't give much of an indication as to what he was doing to be besides a boss, and then they threw him into the mix.

However, he didn't have 1/10th the story that came with the rest of the Summoner track, including the Fenrir history and Waking the Beast.

I just can't really think of many other options, but I always was bugged by the fact that they were on the original Windurstian star chart, never showed up except as bosses (one optional), but then Diab was given. It just didn't feel complete, and I assumed more was coming with Phoenix based on Tenzen, the time-travel WoTG idea, and the gates in Pso'Xia, which have not yet appeared in the past (hopefully they are included in northlands update.

Useless speculation, I know, but I am hopeful. It can go either way of course since even Alex wasn't always an active summon (FF9 for example, he did a cameo as a shield over a whole city).

Thats because you can't prove a negative.
At this point I could say that Atomos would be the new summon and he'd spit out baby Cait Siths to attack.. and you can't prove me wrong either can you? "Where is your proof?" rite?

Nothing about the Museum entry in Dissidia points to Magus Sisters being avatars or not in XI, except that they're already in the game. I only helped to prove that the Shikaree sisters are indeed the Magus Sisters.. so if it could go either way.. it's already gone my way. That is the only point I was trying to make.

Whether or not SE wants to do Magus Sisters as summons again is up to them, but it has no basis of proof from the Dissidia Museum entry, or from the existing Magus Sisters in FFXI.
Furthermore, the most powerful summon for a series entry since FF6 has not made any repeat appearances as a summon in the main FF series. (Crusader, KotR, Eden, Ark, Magus Sisters, etc)

There is more evidence pointing elsewhere than pointing towards this ever happening.. but like i said, people just want to believe what they like. I'm all for any new summon...

Since they were having technical difficulties, they couldn't release them at the time.
Only solution? How about this solution?

diabolos has alot of backstory to him, its called dynamis.

he had his motivations during the cop storyline to create dynamis back during the war as a realm everyone could escape to because the emptiness was eating everything. its the reason we have all those mobs in dynamis, its where the hydra corps disappeared to during the seige of castle z, and it is further explained through the storylines for cop dynamis. dynamis is simply his dreamworld.

They never explain why people go there in the first place, or if they even chose to go there at all. Personally, I am hoping that some of this information is explained along the way in WotG.

there was an explanation, diabolos was originally drawing people into dynamis to avoid the emptiness.

as for us entering the original dynamis zones, its because shadowlord is trapped in there and growing stronger.

as for the cop dynamis zones, it has something to do with something or someone messing with his dreamworld.

    CoP ending spoiler ahead:

    Spoiler: show
It's mentioned in the cutscene after beating Dynamis-Tavnazia that someone was messing with this dreamworld, and it's heavily hinted at, but never directly stated that it was Prishe.

You could be right, I just assumed my answer because of the zone being CoP.
