PS2 to USB Controller help

I recently purchased one of those USB adapters for my ps2 controller. I can set everything up, except the d-pad. Anyone using a controller ever have this problem? I assume I am supposed to do it under "menus" in the "gamepad settings" I cannot for the life of me seem to be able to read my d-pad on any of my ps2 controllers. Help?

I remember fighting with mine for along time and gave up too. I always figured it was something simple. Did you try running the FFXI config and try using the Controller with FFXI official windower? That's the only thing I can think of that I didn't try.

I got my PS2 > USB adapter from Radio Shack and hooked it up and started playing with no problems. Maybe its just a shitty adapter. Check it in windows control panel > game pads, and see if you have full function there. Also make sure that the analog light on the PS2 controller is lit.

Figured it out, I disabled hat switches and sliders, dunno why those option would even be there (not like I'm playing mechwarrior with a joystick), but the shit works now.
