Fellowship NPC's Chocobo Wand?

Wiki says the wand unlocks a mini quest that allows the npc to ride a chocobo. Anybody know how to start it? I bought the wand but I'm afraid to call my npc and get on a chocobo because I don't want to waste a Signal Charge :/

Id say its BS unless there are actually details of the quest by the person who made that edit. But if there is one, that would be pretty cool, I bought it for my npc for fun didnt think there would be any use for it.

get a promyvion pearl and waste one of those charges

Or just try it on a day when you don't have time to play? Signal pearls recharge in 20 hours, so not like it'd be a huge waste. I'd test it, but my npc doesn't have a choco wand.
