    Xmas ideas

    Since my family is oversea, and I won't be spending time with any of them this xmas, and my gf and a couple friends are in the same boat. What suggestions do you guys have regarding activity and location during xmas and new year?

    For a long time while I was in college, my friends and I celebrated what we called "Thanksgiving II: The reckoning" as all good sequels have to have a subtitle. I would make a turkey (and usually a pork roast also, but that was optional) then my friends would all big side dishes and we'd have a big get together for everyone that wasn't going home for Xmas. I'm not big on christmas, so there was a strict "No presents" clause, its all just about getting your grub on. We're having our first Thanksgiving II this year, after about a 3 year hiatus. Though the guest list has dwindled from about 15 people to 5.

    I'm in the same boat as well, except that everyone around me moved back home for christmas break, so it's pretty much just me. i really don't want to sit at home all day watching A Christmas Story, but I might have to.
