Waiting for the "shit I lost my password keychain thingy" threads.
Nothing says Merry Christmas quite like the Christmas Eve banhammer
Feel free to elaborate. Keep in mind that this is limited to the hardware implementation, not the software ones that are vulnerable to just stealing the .asc file.
Edit: I should also add that since this is something that'd have to be integrated into the game, don't post a WebID portal vulnerability and go "LOL SECUREID IZ PWNED".
Is there any reason to believe that perhaps SE is screwing us over with fake news?
I mean, "Special Task Force Unit" abbreviates to STFU and now the RMT-PWNER 1.337?
And we have a Goblin Bounty Hunter in the game to kill RMT fishbots. At Fan Fest when they first unveiled all of this, they started with a "STF Wars" ban list and they said that they ban RMT at 9,999 carp.
All this can't possibly equate to SE having a sense of humor. Noooooo...
My ToAU mule with 4 Moat Carps, some gear and 10k gil got jailed(auto I think) on Dec. 17(test run? hah!). Called a GM right after and he asked me what OS/Background applications I was using at that time. I listed all of them except windower(Fraps, GetRight, Firefox) Then he told me that they could've interfered with the system, asked me to disable them, make sure my hardware is not overclocked and sent me back to homepoint.
It does appear that there may have been some sort of a mistake. I would highly recommend reviewing your system and make sure that everything is operating as intended, and ensure that your hardware is not overclocked and you have no download accelerators running.
Happy Winter Solstice, assholes.
New grief tactic: GM a rival LS for botting, specifically a member who has access to the bank account... wait for them to get Gilded Tomb'D.
Auto-jailer is working.
People complaining in a certain other forum about instantly being sent to jail for using pos/warp hacks.
Naw, people don't care anymore.
Is it Allakhazam? Or something more illicit?
Neither of those are weaknesses in SecureID. The first would (if SE were stupid enough to allow disabling/reseting SecureID without CD keys, which they won't be) be a rather obvious and naive problem with SE's implementation, and the second is simply a reality for any kind of user-based authentication. Passwords, OTP systems like this, biometrics, etc can all be "beaten" fairly reliably by attacking the human element, particularly for a low-stakes thing like a video game account. Given that SE requires CD keys for any kind of account verification already and that RMTs are unlikely to break into your house and make you login at gunpoint, I don't think either are relevant to the discussion.
However, it is worth noting that real SecureID has a "duress" feature that lets you auth using a different PIN (which works, so as not to alert the attacker) to notify the auth server that you're in physical danger.
