    Favorite FF Attribute System?

Every Final Fantasy player knows that each one had it's own attribute system that was amazingly unique.

Final Fantasy 7 had materia, Final Fantasy 8 had junctioning magic, etc.

What was your favorite and least favorite, and why?

I loved Final Fantasy 7's materia system. The hundreds of combinations and trial and error were very interesting.

However, Final Fantasy 10's sphere grid pissed me off to no end. I hated that shit because the AP points at a certain point just got so ridiculous, it took forever to get just one level.

i really loved the materia system as well.
    FFIX's system was great too.

    I disliked FF8 and FF X-2's systems
I never really understood 8 and X-2 just felt like a grind -.-

I really enjoyed the AP system in 9 but I think it's just because 9 was my favorite, if I had to choose what I thought was the best system though I'd go with FF8, junctioning magic was nifty but the draw system was just kind of annoying. FFX's was terrible in my opinion because anyone could go anywhere, being able to make Yuna hit for as much as a melee was stupid.

Tactics JP and job system most definitely. Closely followed by 9, 8 and 5's job system.

I personally loved 8's system and prefer it to the rest,. 10 was somewhat of a nuisance but it wasn't too bad.

Hard to pick between Tactics, 7 and 8. The older games were ok, like 3, but I hated 9, 10 and 12.

FF8's Junctioning system for me... it was so flexible and customizable and in the hands of a master can be extremely powerful...

Really liked 5 because it was the closes system to FFXI. I really hated junction system of 8.

Espers by far. + stat bonuses on level gains were really sweet if you stacked them on the right characters properly.

FFV is easily my favorite. It's easy to make a gamebreaking combination capable of killing bosses in a few rounds.

I also like FFII, at least in its later incarnations. Though it's rather odd that the Black Mage (whoever you choose) usually ends up with more HP than your Paladin/White Mage, since the latter generally has high evasion from shields.

The way you could get abilities and whatnot through GFs in FF8 was ok, but the junction system was retarded. Yes it was customizable in a sense, but in reality you'd end up junctioning the same magic to the same stats across your characters, making the whole thing a pointless waste of time.

    Sphere/license grids were just terrible.

I prefer the job systems in FF5, FF9, FFT, etc., but materia in FF7 wasn't bad either.

7 would be my favorite. hated hated hated 12's. it was so incredibly easy to get everyone the same exact thing. you didnt even have to try to get everyones board filled up.
10 was the same alittle bit, but at least you had to work your ass off to do it.

FFVII, I loved me some Materia. I swear every time that whore Yuffie steals the shit and give it back in random order I'd get a better setup after re-doing it all.

I liked FFVIII's Junctions but it usually ment your strongest magic was junctioned so you couldn't use it because your stats would drop.

Hated FFX's grid, though it was nice eventually only having to level 3 characters since they could all do everything. Much as I hated Yuna her being able to Melee, Cast White, Black Magic, and Summon was nice.

I need to go back to FFVI, never gave it enough time to really get into Espers.

FFV's job system and FFVI's esper system will forever be God tier.

    Junctioning is always shit

FF5 is one of the best imo. Was a lot of fun to job change.
FF6 did the job, but it wasnt anything special imo.
FF7 was fine, materia where a chore to handle (too many, level too slow, and it was annoying to change when you were using different characters and wanted to maximize everything)
FF8. Was a nice attempt, but "usable magic" and lack of equipment was a huge issue that made the good idea suck.
FF9 fun and simple, and feel rewarding
FF10 Weapon were a chore to craft. Sphere grid was fun, but it was lacking the feeling of "completing" something since it was too big
FF12: The grid was better than the sphere, but the weapon/armor selection was poorly done

Guess I will go with FF9 because it was very rewarding, without being annoying.

Overall the first title that jumps to mind is FFIX. But I think that may be because the game was overall great in every aspect.

I love VIII to no end though so I guess I'd have to go with that.

I didn't loath FFX like some, but it did make the game extremely easy. Even your healers could hit for over 9999.

Job systems were always the best. V and IX are my favourites in that respect. I personally hate the systems were every character was basically a carbon copy in terms of skills.
