Gaming Mice?

I've had a Revolution for several months now at home and work and I love it. The only odd thing I've ever had it do is fuck up scrolling in IE7, but that's because it's IE7 and a giant bag of crap. I've never seen the issues you are describing so I would go with defective and get a new one.

How far is the USB thing from the mouse? Mine is under the table... so that "might" cause some issues if the connection is really poor on the product. Still don't think that would be the cause of it intermintently messing up at times.

Seconded on all the MX518/G5 recommendations; I've used tons of mice and always keep coming back to these ones. I prefer G5 to MX518, but if you go the G5 route, you should probably be aware that certain reflective surfaces (Icemat, etc.) may cause tracking problems, although the newest drivers may have fixed this.

G5 ftw. I'll second the durability comment; been using mine for 3 years and it still works/looks brand new. The easy sensitivity adjustment is godly.
