I think the relationship between ArenaNet and NCSoft is more like what it is between FlyingLab and Sony. I don't know about NCSoft customer support but ArenaNet is great and GW2 will be the next big thing to look forward to when Aion gets boring. Maybe T.E.R.A. too.
I hope Aion support is like GW support.

Also, Chinese OB for Aion is coming up, you can ragister and play, but if you don't upgrade to an "adult" account with a CSSN and CellPhone number, you can't pickup items or trade. In others words, you'd be stuck with Lv1 starter gear the whole length of the game if you're not chinese.

Played the open beta for a little while. Was really nice aside from it being in chinese. Graphics were off the w00t and gameplay was so smooth. Then it got really congested about 15minutes after beta started and I had to log due to all the lag.

HOW TO PLAY CHINESE OPEN BETA IN FULL ENGLISH!

Sleeping Spring: March, 2009

Scroll down half way to "Guide to Chinese Open Beta" follow the instructions to download the client register your account and register it for the open beta. All information is on that link so I will not be answering any questions.

Once you've FULLY installed the game and updated the client and you are able to log on Aion and play the game (it will be in chinese) download the link above. Once you've downloaded the ENU.pak go to your Aion/L10N directory. You'll see 2 things here. A folder titled CHS and a CHS.pak. First you will copy the CHS folder where it is and rename it ENU. Then you will put the ENU.pak inside L10N folder. After doing all this your L10N folder should contain 4 files. CHS ENU folders and CHS ENU.paks. Now you're done.

Load up Aion and enjoy it in FULL english.

Been downloading this this evening after a guy I met on aionsource msn'd me about it. Protip: USE THE TORRENT. The site links on the client download are horrid. First started dling them and they were capped at 200k/sec then dwindled down to like 50, and then after a few hundred meg they all crapped out. The torrent is running good, not blazing balls fast but its consistent.

Just to reiterate as they have been saying on the aion boards, this english patch is not 100% production yet, so if something is wierd it'll probably get fixed. Just so ppl don't QQ all over it cuz they didn't like the wording in a quest's beta dialog...

And I read some know-it-all "my pc is faster than light speed" guy crying about some texture glitch saying it was the game then later saying that running in vista with dx9 rather than dx10 on his shiney toy made it better. Incase someone has issues. It was an nvidia card too... Maybe ATI should change their slogan to something like "We run MMOs better than the other guys..." lol

I used the DDL links Purr and had no problems, then again I started it when I knew I wouldn't be home for another 6 or 7 hours, haha.

Finished the DL and installing now then I'll do the english thing.

Also, friend of mine got into the OB and said he didn't register with a CSSN and he can pick up items, but don't know about trading.

Spoke to soon, the rar file got damaged, woohoo for a failure 7 hour dl. Lol

No idea, just going by what he said.

And I keep getting some freakin error when trying to install. And even though I got the language installed on the comp the chinese characters aren't showing up and are nothing but a bunch of alt code characters so I can't screenshot it and ask "what the hell does this mean?" Lol

Yeah, I got an error too.
It was something to do with data.zip that was missing that took forever to download and I ended up cancelling it.
Can't figure out how to register an account either.
