Okay I have everything working, logged in killed some porcupines and mutant beavers, level 3 GET.

Everything is in korean though. To put the english pack into the "L10N" folder or whatever, that requires going into the .zip folder which is password protected. What the fuckkkkkkkkkkk?

What is this mysterious password? Or how the hell do I get it in English?

Edit : Tried googling shit and everyone gives the same response of "you don't need to unzip it", but I can not drag the ENU.pak shit into the L10N folder for some stupid reason. Is there a .zip folder I can download that already has the English pack in there?

I have no clue wtf you are doing or talking about. You clearly installed the game and therefore i know you have the damn game saved somewhere on you HDD. most likely in program files by defualt. If you messing with the zip your doing it wrong.

Are the missions mandatory? I've run into a brick wall at 17 in Verteron due to the elite mobs required. I know the XP rewards are great, but do I HAVE to do these?

Yeah the Korean version is on 1.2 as opposed to 1.0. With luck we'll be getting the 1.2 version at launch, but you never know =/

Yes and no. The missions give pretty good exp, and they have very decent gear rewards. You can pretty much coast to 22-23 with the mission reward gear, only thing better is expensive green/blues of the AH.

Also if you've done every mission from 1-50, you get a quest for a set of lvl 50 Wings; which is nice considering that the 40 set is roughly 12m

1 minute. You must get the wings at 9, your xp will be capped at 1 TNL otherwise. As soon as you hit 9, fuck the rest of the starter zone quests, just do the new mission that pops up and get out of there.

I'm getting that fatigue bullshit now but it doesn't seem to be taking an effect, EXP is normal. I put a unit of time into my SDO account but how is that even connected with my game account?

Just like getting the wings Mission at lv 9 and moving onto the next city, future misisons are acquired at lv 19 and so on. So if u don't wanna bother doing the missions, grind to lv 19 and get the next set of missions, but unfortunately the difficulty lv jumps dramatically.

Example is that the first or 2nd missions requires u to fight lv 25+ mobs, which is doable but difficult without a decent party when ur only lv 20 or so.

After lv 20 its pretty much a hard grind.... this is probably why they upped the quest rewards in 1.2

Quests are triggered by lv. Thats why early on in the game u get alot of quests because ur lv rate is decently complemented by quests. After u hit lv 20, you require like 1.2M+ worth of xp to lv and quests only give a measly 20-40k xp. You'll burn thru the quests fast and only gain maybe 25% lv..... then its just a grind fest.

Debatable. On my chanter and ranger, I had little to no trouble soloing the first set of level 20 missions (20-26). Yes, there are quests that give ~40k exp, but when you factor in the mobs you're killing to do the quests, you're looking at ~200-400k per quest (Depending on quest/mobs). You also start getting quick repeatable quests that will give you around 100k+ each time (mobs+reward) where you can make a nice amount of money at the same time.

Example: You can get a quest at 20 that requires you to kill 15 raptors, with a reward of ~15k? exp and 2.7k gil. Each raptor however, at level 20 gives 6-7k exp. That's around 100k exp from the mobs alone, which take in the range of 20-50s to kill depending on class.

Yeah, at that rate it will take a few hours of grinding if you're doing that quest alone; but there are at least 3 quests you get like that at 20-22, along with about 20-25 other quests from 20-24. It really goes quite fast if you know what you're doing.

They sure as fuck better have at least 1.2 in the US release. Last I heard there were rumors that 1.3 was going up on the korean test server now-ish (looking into that in a bit). The grinding isn't too bad solo, but it is much more fun to get in a group to do those missions in Verteron that have the elite mobs. Hard to do that not knowing chinese though ;;. Gathering and crafting also net you 100-300 exp per gather/synth which helps add up.

For other release-type news, there is a swedish site and a danish site that are doing drawings for 250 closed beta keys, to be in early june I think. EU having a beta is a good sign as ours is supposed to by right alongside it. There is supposed to be an announcement this week about the contents of the collector's edition officially.

edit2: The early levels are fairly quick. I pushed my cleric through to 17 in a day but ran out of quests now, where as on my spiritmaster I did some grinding/farming in the mid teens to get money for alchemy (111 now^^) and that took a bit longer. And speaking of crafting, I'm pretty sure earlier in this thread I questioned loosing mats on a failed synth and someone said you lose everything. The other day I was crafting and had a fail, and I'm pretty sure I only lost the work order item and 1 of the 2 bought materials as I had an extra powder left over. OR MAYBE I DISCOVERED DUPING?!?!

I'm lv 26 (been going slowly since lv'ing w/ a friend... but my crafting is 300+ lol) and never had to actually "grind" out anything outside of quest mobs. It's not like WoW were you get lead from one quest to the next... yes it happens a lot in Aion, but a lot of quests you just need to explore to find, or go back to old npc's who may not offer you new quests.

I couldn't imagine trying to do the game solo... lots of missions require grp's and its just so much easier to do stuff w/other ppl. And you need to do missions/certain quests to get abyss access anyways. And can't progress in the game unless you do the missions w/ open up new areas later on. Me and my buddy are just laughing because we have done so much PvP before the Abyss we are almost Rank 7, and were Rank 8 at lv 24 before the abyss. There are a bunch of quests that take you into Morheim (one asmo region) and we just pvp'd ppl in their PvE zone until we got gang raped a bunch that our kisk ran out. And if you run around in Morheim you can find neutral npc's who give you quests lol.. we did those also while killing asmo's :3. Then when you get w/ an alliance of ppl and siege Morheim it's just plain awesome having 20+ ppl running around wreaking havoc on questers lol... until you get raped by a handful of lv 40-45 ppl >.>
