Well Aion is based on the CryEngine, but even still, they have pretty low requirements to max out on graphics. Kerb's system should be good enough for at least 80% max settings. In the graphics settings, there's a slider with 5 notches.

I have a crappy geforce 8500 gt overclocked to 650mhz core and 1333mhz memory (kinda arbitrary numbers that I chose). Those are pretty similar numbers to your x1900 and I do about the same, 3-4 out of 5 notches of max settings @ 1920x1080 resolution. No AA or Bloom effect though, no idea what those are really. Any card a better than this should be able to max out, cards around the $100 price range.

I think Steam was official, but atm, they're still using the previous loader. If you're planning on playing beta, you should download it now, so you're not stuck downloading when you're actually able to play like half the aion community this past weekend event lol.

Ranger are great for mobbing and survivability 20+, and what server/region are you on?
Anyone English should be on Region2 Azariel. I honestly run into more NA/EU on the field then Chinese.

I think most of us are on that server. So yeah I am on there, feel free to add me on Sqwunk and Pinsy, I could deinitely use some help taking out the Tursin elites, but i'll probably make a cleric if i get stuck on my gladiator.

I've heard that Clerics are wicked OP also, having to do witht he fact that they can super buff themselves on top of curing themselves mid battle.

CryEngine is 5 years old, it's not that bad in terms of requirements.

The beta that is going on right now is for the NA beta. You need to preorder Aion and they give you a beta key. Theres also websites Im pretty sure giving out keys for a 1 time weekend beta, got one for the first beta weekend before I preordered that way.

Anti-aliasing smooths out the jagged stair look that occurs on edges of polygons. It's a subtle effect, but it's noticeable.

Bloom is the simulation of the human eye's response as it adjusts to light levels that are drastically different, or when looking at very bright light sources. A good example is being in a very dark room, with a wall in front of you, and on the other side of the wall is a window that opens to the outdoors where it is an incredibly bright day out. If you walk quickly around the wall and stare out the window, there is a moment where the dark room turns pitch black, and the window appears over-saturated, as your pupil hasn't had enough time to adjust to the lighting conditions. Bloom simulates that, although the example I give is really an extreme one.

You can see through the trees to an area where the sky is over-saturated to simulate how the human eye sees that type of environment.

I was going to ask if it would run on my new system I'm getting built next week, but from readin previous posts, I have a feeling it would run on it.

Getting an Phenom II X3 720 @2.8GHz, HD4850, 4GB of RAM, etc. I'd probably be able to run it one pretty high settings at 1680x1050, right?

You won't get one easily you'll have to preorder sometime this weekend if you want in on the next beta for sure. I'm seriously considering buying the preorder to get in on next week's.

Fileplanet is giving away keys this Monday, have to be lucky though. If it matters to you, people with beta keys will be allowed a 2 day head start on the servers before it goes live. There'll be a lot of congestion ingame, people fighting over quest mobs, crowding npcs, etc. So getting in early is pretty good.

It worked up until GameStop caught on and said "no refunds after beta keys are sent out".

Did manage to get something like 5-6 extra beta keys for people out of them though, lolol.

I think you can cancel your pre-order, lose your deposit, but dunno about a full refund. Also, I'm not sure if you'll get the bonus items too, since it's a part of the collectors edition, not really the beta?

that's the installer, I think you can download without an account.
It downloads the game through this like Steam, something like 6gb >_>

I did it through Gamestop.com.. so I had no deposit. If they weren't gonna let me cancel then I'd just call my CC company to take care of it when the item shipped.
