Also for people wanting a key but not preordering, if you follow Liv on twitter they give out a few keys on the day of the beta usually. You gotta dig through some lore usually for it.

After playing some on Azariel its amazing how many english players are there lol, I love it. Had a group this weekend do the krall quests in verteron which seemed like a few new people. Just want to say to anyone playing a healer, don't get discouraged if it seems a little tough at first, you'll get the hang of it. I think our healer was having trouble getting used to how it works in aion, after a couple wipes they bailed. ;;

In other related news, I picked up a n52te yesterday and spent last night mapping keys on that and in aion. I'm liking it pretty good, and I'm nowhere near accustomed to it enough for it to really shine. I thought it would be a good idea to set the Dpad for movement, but I noticed when I did that I would lose some control on my fingers a bit it seemed. Put movement back to a wasd style and set the quickbar 1-4 on the dpad and it seems to work real nice, allows pretty fast spell usage. Oh, and I read on AS about gameguard messing with the software for the control pads (mostly logitech tho I think), I had no issue with it, and it even let me have the programming utility open and update the pad while the game was running no problems.

How is healer anyway? I've always been healer in all MMO's I've played, so I wanted to try something new. I might find myself being a healer again though.

You'll have a shit loads of mp and spells that cost 30+ to cast at least that's what I know 1-10 idk later levels.

It's funny that you said that Purrrfect because the same thing happened in my group. Our sorc kept getting resisted on sleep so we kept wiping and he eventually just ditched which, like the dunes, made everyone else want to ditch

lol ppl are noobs when they start to fail and then leave grps. you don't get better that way and w/ the krall stuff (your first real grp experience) its understandable for new ppl to not know wth to do. Yeah it sucks because dieing in Aion is expensive as hell lol, but you gotta learn sometimes. Right now on Azaeriel its harder to find lower lv healers since not many NA ppl are rolling massive alt's like NA version will have

afaik, unless you pre-order the game and get your beta key that way.. all the other beta keys are "just" for that specific beta

Is this game as similar to Lineage II as it looks? Is the grind as absolutely ridiculous? As much as I loved that game, the retail rates on EXP and such were brutal.

From my understanding, Beta Keys were good for all beta events except the early access. Preorder keys were all events, and extra items. I'm pretty sure it was said on the betaboards that any beta key would work for all betas (except early access), but BB is down atm so i can't look it up ><

Yeah kinda silly, but they close down the betaboards inbetween events for some reason. Aionsource is pretty good though, big community, might have the answer there or someone who'd know.

I've read complaints about the grind, and it being comparable to Lineage2, but I haven't played aion past lv16 nor have I played L2, so idk :3 In the newest patch (not that it affects us now), there's going to be a new instance area to help specifically in exping.

They cut down on the grind in either 1.1 or 1.2 by making quests give more xp and adding quests, or something like that. Since we should be getting 1.2 at release I don't think it'll be too bad. People will start hitting 50 with a week or two of release.

1.1/1.2 they add more quests, adjust others (a quest that give 100k will give a 1m ect) a rested exp system, new exp locations and more.

You won't hit 50 in a week. Even with 1.2, its a LOT of exp needed to level in the late 30's - 50. For example at 35 i have over 16m tnl, and quickly scales up to 30m+. This is not a game where you're going to max out in a short amount of time. If you were really crunching and knew what you were doing, with little to no competition, you could probably max out in ~3.5 weeks (rough guess).


My only problem with Aionsource is that people there think they're so much better than anyone asking a question (from my experience at least). I had asked a simple question only to get talked down to by 6-8 people, one of which was pulling the "Level Card" when we were the same level -.-;

I know you'll have crap like that in every forum, but hell, even the trolls here at least point you in the right direction -.-

if anyone can help me figure this out I'd really appreciate it

Kinda upset that NCSoft hasn't updated Aion's Gameguard as of yet (At least the NA one). It looks like I won't be playing this weekend since I'm on W7-32bit and the current GG is incompatible. =/

If you were trying to select Region Two earlier today, there was a maintenance from 6-8pm EST. Its back up now, should let you select Region Two.

if you get the red box, just click the radial button and then the button on the left. it should then bring you to the right screen to follow the rest of the guide.

I think there was a fix for this (w7 GG) somewhere on Aionsource iirc.

Oh you shoulda seen em in CAion release, it was horrible... after the first week you couldn't join their legion unless you were 20+, and if you didnt play every day you could be booted (I understand recycling ppl since it is a beta and guild max is 90, but beta hardcore is hardcore). Then less then 2 weeks after China retail you had to be 30+ and other rules still applied. was fuckin retarded...
