All rank 9 nubs! Wonder where they were going.![]()
Basically what happened is a bunch of Elyos who leveled to 20 during the first beta weekend camped in the Asmodian level 20 zone all day and made life hell if you wanted to explore there.
Always chosen a DD 90% of the rpg's (MMO's included) I've played, from FF1 to Suikoden to Aion. I really like Ranger so far, I got myself up to 17 during the last beta weekend and it seems to be quite alot of fun.. but the slow kill speed solo does make it semi-annoying.
I may reroll as a Gladiator for this next even coming up since I've got a rather good idea of what to do now, I can see going from 1-17, maybe 20 in a hardcore day, easily.
Only gripe so far that I've had is they put a beta weekend on July 4th, I was smashed from 8pm onwards on the 4th and pretty hungover on the 5th when I woke up lol.
Only glitches/bugs I've noticed are in a few quest dialog's that are coded wrong and names of places/people are turned into random symbols. The other "glitched" thing that I'm not sure on is a quest on the Elyos side in the contaminated swamp where you need to use a potion to dispel the creature's magical/physical resistances but you only get 2.. and it rebuffs every 5~ seconds. Myself (Ranger) along with another Ranger started to duo it.. took it to 75% in about 5~ minutes, then kept inviting EVERYONE that showed up, once we got to 6 players in the party it took about 10~15 min to down it, doing 1 damage at a time with ANY and EVERY attack. Besides those small things though, I've encountered very few problems and have fallen in love with this game!
I wouldn't, I got a glad to 20 in first beta and it wasn't exactly that awesome, especially in pvp where you get raped by the retarded amounts of CC at that level and no way to counter it. I've seen videos of 50s dueling and glad just looks terrible. I'm rerolling Templar personally since they can kill just as fast and survive a hell of a lot longer.
Oh and this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3yQIhxZ9d_k
First fight: Templar vs Sorc
Sorc completely rapes the templar, who cares Sorc is op when it goes all out QQ.
Second Fight: Sorc vs Assassin
Sin win and does a pretty job at it too.
Third Fight: Glad vs Sin
Glad completely destroys the sin, all the sin can do is run like a bitch.
Fourth fight: Glad vs Templar
Keep in mind this is how much damage a templar can do to player in plate. Not to mention he has a chain that keeps a player stunned for a grand Eight seconds, they can't do shit. Probably why the sorc in first fight went all out, if he got close enough for the stun chain he wouldn't last 3 of the 8 seconds.
Final One: Templar vs Templar
Battle of the Gods pretty much, epic fight.
Templar is just amazing and I'm sticking with it.

Another good 3v3

With a chanter, chanter is like the equivalent of WP/DoK in WAR Lol
I think the Sorc only won so easily because he blew all his cooldowns or something, like those vine things and whatever shot them up into the air in that orb thing.
How are they all moving so fast, it looks like they are running but I couldn't do that when I played, is it a PvP skill or a unique property of the PvP area they were in? The assasin looks like they were moving really fast.
Also, what was the Sorc doing then it was like jumping and floating with the blue trails behind it, and it looked like it had a "blink" type move. Is there anywhere I can read up on these skills and such?
I was actually hoping for a good Wiki to be developed soon after the game launches, right now there's not much besides a basic over view from the Aion Source Wiki.
And as others have said, Glad really shines 20+ and looks god damn awesome when they're doing it, so I can't wait for the 17th to roll around!
ps. that's an awesome lookin' video, can't wait for the full version to be out in September!
Pretty sure the video is sped up, however most everyone is using a run scroll too. Sin's can move crazy fast with Frenzy, 20% movespeed shoes, and 30% movespeed scroll.
Sorc gets a backwards Blink, called "Blind Leap" in the US client iirc, the ENG pack calls it "Dimension Door."
You can see a list of skills (v 1.2) at Aion Armory
Edit: You can see a bunch of other videos from that tourny up on You Tube, some of them are pretty good :3
That many ppl couldn't use a rift since there are only 2 relatively close ones in elten that you can get to at 20 (and each rift has a player cap it allows through - and they randomly appear in one out of 7 (?) spots every 2 hrs)... Well they could, just the odds of everything being in their favor for such a feet is pretty rare. The further away rifts I think have a lower lv cap to enter, yet all rifts only allow in players of X-X range.
There is a tele quest lady who fails at tele'ing ppl and takes you to Morheim by accident. She does it twice, one quest starts at 20 and the other starts a few hrs after you finish the first. You don't need to do the quests then, and i recommend waiting until you have infiltration quests before using her since she takes you to the closest spot for the objectives (and thet way you can ignore rifts for the time being). I'm sure their is an equivalent quest giver for asmo's also.
The only problem with that teleport quest is you can't get out of that city area. Aion really babies Asmos, as all of the maps Elyos can rift into are very linear, and there's a gate with Guards right before the no fly zone in Morheim. You might be able to fly to the "ceiling" and glide over the gate, but I haven't tried it.
Bolded, hi.I wouldn't, I got a glad to 20 in first beta and it wasn't exactly that awesome, especially in pvp where you get raped by the retarded amounts of CC at that level and no way to counter it. I've seen videos of 50s dueling and glad just looks terrible. I'm rerolling Templar personally since they can kill just as fast and survive a hell of a lot longer.
holy shit, owned.
That was kind of my point.
Elyos zones are more open, allowing rifers more freedom in terms of traveling the map. Allowing for easier camping/ganking things like flight transporters and such. Or how in the Abyss, Asmo's have a shield preventing Elyos from camping their bind point, while to my knowledge Elyos have no such protection.
Speaking of open zones, I remember on my very first time in Eltnen I went down the elevator and out the back to the one npc that has a couple quests for you, completely behind the fort, and out of no where this asmo chanter pops up and tried to take me out. Fortunately, the chanter just couldn't make enough burst dmg to off my noob ass.
I think for the zone layout (ie. choke points and limited acccess) could be attributed to the lore, in that the asmos have had a harsher environment to deal with, and so you could say they might have put their cities in such places for the defensive bonus. The elyos don't care, they got everything in their opinion lol.
What the hell just happened to C-Aion? Did they collapse servers? Cause I don't think NE region exists anymore. I don't speak wakka wakka so I'm not exactly sure what is going on.
